This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
LOL! Our Tweek has always been fairly fascinated with water... likes to stick her feet in my tub and go after my toes, or the gold fish out in the pond, or my ice in my water glass ;~\
One time, she was sitting on the edge of the tub watching me take a bath, which she always does, but when I laid back to rinse my hair, she walked out on to my stomach! Now this was a fairly nervous moment for me, because I tried to grab her and she got spooked, I was about to have cat claws on my naked belly! So I just layed there a minute, and she turned around and went back to the edge of the tub.
Hair— OOOOHHH!!! I didn't know that. I bet he's their daddy.
Our last remaining cat, the little Lilac Point, sits on the side of the tub and meows anxiously, and she pads around and leans down to sniff the water, but no WAY is she getting IN! But she might always change her mind . . . .
He looked a lot like Wicket.
I’ll see if I can find pictures of them and post them for you.
Lordy, what a couple of two days I’ve had.
I had to go to an out of state funeral yesterday, then last night I was here visiting with a friend, and had to call the police because of kids climbing the gas pipes again, and one cussed me up one side and down the next....I mean nasty language from a 15 yo....
Today I had someone park their motorcycle on my SIDEWALK.... one again the tow truck people told me to call the restaurant.
Then the next tow truck service I was going to used showed up and PARKED in my lot...LOL...talking about irony...when I told him he could park here, he got very smart mouthed...I lost it completely with him...
I’m so glad I stopped yesterday and got me some Kansas beer:)
him he could park here, =couldn’t park here
Sorry about the funeral.
It sounds like if you move to town, life will never be dull! :~)
I’ve been checking the pricing of a car boot....at least then I”D get the money for removing it, rather then having to wait on a tow truck who may not get here before the car is moved.
That cracks me up... I worry about you out there confronting people like that, but you’re no wall flower!
Yes, that’s exactly how it was, but I could still see the “pained” look in her eyes. She was good and didn’t try to climb up me when I got her out though. I’ve had some that tried to do that......no, they did do it. Once they get started you can’t get them off you.
One bit me and Hal had to prize his teeth out of my thumb!
I was gonna suggest changing towing companies, but you’re way ahead of me. The boot sounds like a reasonable option. Hope you have a “45” or something around in case they come looking for the key! Those Oklahomans don’t sound like they scare easily....including you.
LOL...the hardest thing for me to do is to keep my mouth shut. I need to just learn to tow them, or call the tow truck and not confront the people, even when they back talk. Standing out there fussing is not good business, but people just catch me up in the moment and I find myself out there getting in their faces. I need to stop that.
Maybe you should just charge by the hour for parking...
Or rent the lot to the burger place ;~)
Or, better yet, open a better burger place, LOL.
Man! What a pain in the butt about the kids! I still think you oughta put a gate on that alley.
I would think parking a motorcycle on the sidewalk would be a ticketing offense since the sidewalk is public property.
And that’s just incredible about the tow truck guy. What nerve!
LOL, no thanks! I’ve worked enough fast food to know I don’t want too:)
If you were the burger place would you pay to rent the lot????
Asking people to pay to park here would start confrontations as much as just telling them they can’t park here.
The sidewalk the guy was parked on was not public property. I own the sidewalk next to the building where he was parked.
That kid was incredible. Heck, I have a potty mouth and I wouldn’t do what she did...especially at the top of my voice out on a public street.
The gas company did tell me most people do fence off ally ways like I have, but one, I’m thinking it would have to be a very high fence they couldn’t climb over, and two as soon as I got it up it would be my luck I’d be told I couldn’t do that for safety reasons and it would be a waste.
I don’t know if businesses pay to have parking like that, they might! If it starts affecting their business that people can no longer use it. Do they have their own lot at all, or just what’s on the street?
You can’t just be like a Diamond lot with a money slot? Somehow they get an address from the license plate and send you a bill in the mail if you don’t pay them, and then send it to collections. I know because I got stuck by it once when I didn’t pay them.
Have you ever thought about leasing it out to a parking lot company? That way they would put the gates and everthing on it and maintain it and just pay you a fee. Then you wouldn’t have to worry about it and people couldn’t park in it unless they had a pass or put money in the machine when they exited the lot.
