Betsy Woodward: Follow the Money to North American Union

Follow The Money to North American Union

Having worked a little with Congress and its aides, who are the ones that really hold the power, I have a hard time believing they do not know the Security and Prosperity Partnership is tied to immigration. They do know that; they just don't want you to know they know that.

The bill I worked with was a necessary step toward a North American Union. It had an innocent-sounding title of Uniformity for Foods bill, but its language undermined the authority of the states in food safety enforcements. (States do more than 90 percent of inspections and 96 percent of enforcements, as compared to the FDA). I learned there were parties, the ticket to which was to sign onto the bill. Money flowed like no tomorrow.

Insiders and former staff people told me the fix was in on the bill. Ultimately, the consumer groups and state organizations made it an unpopular bill since it dealt with something the average person could identify with. Like the immigration bill, Uniformity for Foods was written in secret. Hearings were not originally going to be held until USA Today, the National Association of Attorneys General, the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture and consumer groups upped the pressure, but then I was told the ones testifying would be carefully chosen – and they were. None of the states' organizations or consumer groups was represented.

Just like immigration, it was supported by the White House and administration, and just like immigration, I expect it to come back. The elected officials spouted the line fed them by lobbyists – it was scary at best to think the buyout of Congress was such a reality. Forget the country and the people – and follow the money.

At the time I did not know about the Security and Prosperity Partnership, but after I found out about North America's SuperCorridor Coalition and SPP, the lights came on and the connection with the legislation was evident. A North American Union can't be accomplished until the power of the states is removed, and they have been chipping away at that for years. Just ask organizations of state legislatures who have watched their authority pre-empted in federal legislation time and time again – always under some wonderful-sounding mantra.

Please understand: I am not against uniform legislation, just pre-emption of states rights and removal of states rights is a necessary precursor to a North American Union. It is indeed scary, but they do know – they just don't want you to know or you to know they know!

that you were touting the other day as better than enforcing existing law,

Don't twist my words. I didn't "tout" it as better.

If conservatives can get something done now and put the same steam behind their efforts...fine.

If not, then nothing has improved.

Many who used to 'tinfoil alert' any mention of NAU, TransHighway foreign port of Kansas City, SPP, etc., are now starting to realize something secretive may be going on.

A dozen states have state legislators who are looking into related issues and are trying to pass laws to restrict some of that activity.

Bush losing 'fast track' trade powersPresident Bush loses his power Saturday to seal "fast track" trade agreements without intervention from Congress, where Democrats blame recent deals for sending U.S. jobs abroad. Since 1975, only one other president, Bill Clinton, has been stripped of that trade promotion authority, designed to speed the reduction of trade barriers and open new markets with other countries. Bush won't get it back again, and the next president might not either. House Democratic leaders, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California and Rep. Charles Rangel of New York, whose Ways and Means Committee handles trade policy, said...

Nothing new is needed. Enforce existing laws.

But that doesn't answer the question ... Do you support the SPP?

That's my point. If conservatives can push to get laws enforced, fine. Get the courts to stop throwing out lawsuits, etc. Get the ACLU out of the way.

We'll see if they have the same punch to make it happen...doubt it.

Well the "socialists" told us they'd sneak up on us and we'd become socialists ourselves without ever realizing it.. (SSA) Social Security payouts are PURE SOCIALISM.. not LIKE pure socialism but as pure as you can get..

The same tactics work for other things like Gramscian democracy(Hitlery)... i.e. BIG government republican SHOULD BE an oxymoron.. it isn't...

of course its about corporate growth

Well, that in itself isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Unless you're a Nadar-ite.

No, corporate growth is not necessarily a bad thing. But if it involves undermining the sovereignty of the nation, it's a very bad thing. How do you feel about the SPP?

In the 1960s that earned you screams of "Racist! Bigot!"

In fact, to this day any mention of "states rights" can trigger those Pavlovian responses. "States rights" are code words, you see.

"All power to government employees in Washington, D.C.!" Contempt and contumely for those who object. But times and technology have changed -- now we have free speech and the free press restored. Just ask the President and the Congress.

SPP...I have to do a LOT more research on it before coming to a conclusion as I suspect should be the case with most on this thread.

It's so easy for Freepers to be swayed by reactionary articles these days. I'm seeing the "mob mentality" pop up here more and more.

here is proof of the pure anti-americanism on the US federal government.

here is proof of the COMMUNIST EGALITARIANISM goals of the US Federal goernment.

A bill related to SPP from Library of Congress official senate bill website.

North American Investment Fund Act (Introduced in Senate) S 3622 IS

S.3622

Title: A bill to authorize the President to negotiate the creation of a North American Investment Fund between the Governments of Canada, of Mexico, and of the United States to increase the economic competitiveness of North America in a global economy.

Sponsor: Sen Cornyn, John [TX] (introduced 6/29/2006) Cosponsors (1)

SUMMARY AS OF: 6/29/2006--Introduced.

North American Investment Fund Act - Authorizes the President to negotiate with Canada and Mexico to create a North American Investment Fund to: (1) increase the global economic competitiveness of North America; (2) promote economic development in Mexico in the areas of infrastructure, education, technology, and job training; and (3) reduce the wealth gap between Mexico and Canada, and between Mexico and the United States.

States that the Fund shall: (1) be funded by all three countries, with conditions on U.S. and Canadian contributions based upon revenue measures to be taken by Mexico; and (2) operate for an initial ten-year period, and cease operation unless Canada, Mexico, and the United States agree to its continuation.

---end summary---

Nowhere in the US Constitution do these communists have authority to reduce the wealth differences between the US and any other nation, certainly at the injury to the wealthier people, the US citizens.

Both parties must be impeached in entirety, and overthrown by force of law (criminal violation of Constitution , RICO, etc etc etc)

The American people do not know about any of this. They would march on Wash DC if they knew how this is working.
