I’ve got the standard appendix jobbie, the childhood crack on the chin (hiding a bit aft of my goatee), and a completely unearned — now faint — horizontal scar high on my cheeckbone, uner my left eye. Got that one from a buddy who decided to do his Arnold Palmer shtick at the mini golf with me standing behind and to his right.

We were both 7, IIRC, maybe 8. Not like he couldn’t READ all of those signs “PLEASE, DO NOT SWING YOUR PUTTER ABOVE YOUR KNEES”.

I NEVER liked being in the room when the Doctor and my Mother were discussing what to do to me. That’s a uniquely unsettling feeling; knowing you’re the subject of, but not a participant in, a discussion that might end up getting you poked, prodded, or otherwise carved on.

Your wet season, our dry one. 80F inside when I got home (95F out) -- not intolerably hot, as long as I have a fan going.

And possibly even pleasant, if I were sunning by a pool. (But I don't do that anymore -- my tolerance for sunburns has decreased over the years. Where, oh where, are the cool mists of autumn...?)

The cyan-colored area southwest of the reservoir on the left is a filtered, chlorinated public pool that features a man-made sand “beach” all along the arcing, 6-inch deep south edge. The “beach” is about 15 feet wide, at which northeastern edge the water is about 18 inches deep, then the regular plastered pool bottom continues to the northeastern edge, getting to a maximum depth of about 4 feet. A grassy slope flanks the entire pool along the southwest edge; it’s perfect for lounging and keeping watch as the kids splash and play to their hearts’ content in the pool.

The environs and the water are much more pleasant than the beaches, and this is FAR more easy to get to; it’s much closer than any of the ocean beaches north or south of S.F.

I have never crossed the sea to go anywhere; not even the seemingly-obligatory trip to Hawaii.

I WOULD like to visit Australia and, perhaps also, New Zealand.
