Hey, thanks for the nice weather! WE barely touched 80, today, and forecast through Friday shows highs of 80, 78, 84, and 87. Thanks for taking a stint in the heat for us.

Would pages 88 to 96 of "Dilbert Gives You the Business" help with your search?

I thought I was going to have another picture to share today, but just as the subject appeared, my camera went on the fritz.

I was hopping mad! In fact, I'm still hopping mad!

.....Newfangled digital technology anyways........ :-)

Good morning. Fog, drizzle, very sticky. I could use a vacation!

You can’t go on vacation. You’re like that Al Capp character, Joe What’sisname, who walks around with a storm cloud over his head.

But in your case, it’s a swarm of noisy, buzzing children.

And now, I’m off to work, to rest up from all the chores I had to do, and didn’t.

I was going to try for 1111, but I had to be up early today, and just couldn’t hang in there long enough to snag it!

I guess if I have to give in gracefully, it may as well be to you! LOL!

Have a nice work day, Bob! I’m cleaning, cleaning, cleaning.

At least the fog is lifting. Maybe it will be dry enough by afternoon for Bill to start mowing the lawn.

Evening!

It’s just about 86, and it would seem we’re getting ash from some of the California fires....It looks strange out there...

Fog and drizzle I can handle...sticky is on my list of things to avoid!

Is that one of those lawns that grows 6” overnight? I hate those things.

When we get regular rain, the back yard grows very fast in the shady areas. The front doesn’t do much, no matter what!

Different soils? How odd.

When I was growing up, we had lawn in front of the house, but the back was farm buildings, until my dad divided it into lots and sold them. Then, of course, we had neighbors were the horse corral and the pig pen used to be...not much difference, I guess! LOL!

I think it’s different kinds of grass, and different drainage. The builder put sod in the front hard, but it never really took off, and we’ve tried all kinds of seed, with very mixed results.

My mother wants me to get a mental-health workup for Pat; she thinks he’s autistic. I’m willing to do this to make Mom happy, but I don’t even know what kind of specialist to call! I’ll spend the next few days calling some of the education staff at church to see what they suggest.

You could start out with your pediatrician. I’m sure s/he will have a good list of pediatric specialists.

I’ll be praying that you can find what you need. Hang in there!

Thanks! We’ll be seeing our GP next Monday about Anoreth’s allergies, so I’ll ask her about “development” specialists. I’ve also emailed Anoreth’s Girl Scout leader, who is a kindergarten teacher, and left a message with the education director at church.

One of Mom’s friends has two grandsons who are autistic, and she said Pat reminds her of them. If a specialist says he’s autistic, and not just weird, I’ll be happy to do ... whatever ... to maximize his chances of being self-sufficient in adulthood, especially since Mom said she would pay anything not covered by insurance.

In other news, she offered Anoreth a week in England if she gets her SAT math grade up to 650!

If Pat is autistic, there are places where he can learn to function quite well, as far as work and getting along socially. But that’s down the road. The first thing is to get him diagnosed. He may be just “wierd!”

Let’s hope the trip England is incentive enough for Anoreth!

I told Anoreth that if she doesn’t exert herself to earn a trip to England, I’ll “incentivize” her myself, so I don’t have to listen to my mother gripe at me for the rest of her (Mom’s) life!

One of Joan’s grandsons has graduated from medical school at 22, and is able to live independently. However, the other, although he’s graduated from college at 19 while living with his brother, cannot learn to drive or to live by himself, so his future is quite uncertain.

Mom thinks that a diagnosis at this point could be the difference between Pat’s being a self-sufficient adult, or not ... and maybe she’s right.
