My Dragonfly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Hi Soaring,
Lovely poem/image! I'm happy to share the pictures I'm taking with the Lair.
Actually the interest of Lairites is probably the main reason I'm even taking pictures! I've traveled a lot and was never much of a picture taker, but these days I find them more interesting (plus it's so cheap and easy to mass produce photos these days!), so I'm quite glad to satisfy some of the interest here in the Lair.
It's 5:30am now (easy to rise early in these hot places, seems natural to do so, plus it's cooler in the early morning and you find yourself seeking out the cool times to circulate around town!). I'll head out to the airport at 9:00am, then it's back to Taiwan. I'm glad I moved way down south, I can't get over the relaxed feeling of the people there, but they are 85% of Taiwan's population and have only had political equality for the last 15 years or so.
So their confidence as owners of the island is sort of settled in now. And the reverse is true of the Mainlanders and Hakka (the other two groups on Taiwan), they are now sure they won't be calling the shots again, and I think that's what the nastiness I experienced in other places is drawn from.
Give me the down home folks any day! Just going up to the middle or top of the island I can feel the "issues" in people on a regular basis. It's down home Southern Hospitality for me!

Ah you are up bright and early today!
The day here was lovely with mild temps. I spent all afternoon in the beauty shop. My appointment was at 12:00 noon. My beautician has had serious back surgery a few months ago, in April she took a nasty fall and set things back. Well, back to my appointment, I had to wait for her to finish the lady ahead of me. I did not mind the wait as I saw how much pain my hair dresser was in. Anyway I was to have a permanent a three hour job, I should have been done by 3:00 PM. It did not work out that way, but she did get the job done in spite of all her pain, my heart went out to her.
So I had a good walk about to the shop and back, all went well and here I am talking with a friend in Bangkok! How good is that. ;)

That sounds delightful, a lovely day at the beauty salon (as a male that's not really my cup of tea, but I know the ladies go in for that sort of thing!). I had the impression you were in a kind of country area, but you can walk to the hairdresser and back, eh?
Are there lots of shops within walking distance? Sounds like a nice hang out! ;-)

Yes, Lady and I love it, so perfect a graphic for the poem.
Imagery is so strong. Maphap, my muse will get a jump start from the graphic or poem, I hope so. ;)

Oh I live in the city, small city, but am a country girl at heart. Lived in the hills most of my life. LOL
Sophisticated hill billy is Soaring Feather.
We do have a coffee house about two blocks away, I don’t hang out there though, the clientele is too, uptown for me. College group.
My Pharmacy is two blocks away so I walk there, too. I live on a quiet side street. The uptown district is about 6 or 8 blocks away from me. There is a grocery store just across the bridge from the Beauty Shop. So things are convenient. However, I don't walk to the grocery store anymore, just too much for me to haul groceries around these days.

Sounds like the American Dream! Let's preserve it for generations to come!
Sophisticated hillbilly! LOL!
Well, it's getting on to 7am, time to go out for breakfast, then it's out to the airport at 9am on the Airport Bus.
Cheers everybody!

Tripn Off To There
In a distant land the rains fell in silent sheets
and we slowly wander down a tree lined street
A brown water river winds through time half fast
carrying the present portion of future into the past
Over temple walls, chiming bells serve up prayer calls
and from orange robed supplicants soft prayers fall
While outside the walls life surges around in chaos
and from the mix of energy and life, destiny the Fates toss
Towers tall and river life mix, people move through the day
in crowds of many colors and many different words to say
Interleaved lives sharing a place, a time, blended common cause
where one needs to understand the shifting rules and laws
Subtle art of tree and stone, ink lines capture scenes afar
and gilded temples amid bicycles and sputtering cars
As visitors capture the passing sights on endless film and chip
and locals sigh and pass them by, their fruity drinks to sip
This is but the usual fare of those who seek the mysteries
here, Off The Beaten Path, who knows what one sees
So stay alert and stay subtle sharp, treasures to divine
in a land of fantasy beyond all the well known signs

You are spiritual and able to soar to great heights. You are a true inspiration, and many people look to you for guidance. And you are quite demanding in relationships... but you're worth it. People know that you will become even greater than you imagine. |

Your Power Bird is a Dove |
Deep and emotional, you can connect well with almost any living creature. You bring hope and optimism to any dire situation. You are both gentle and affectionate with everyone you love. Truly nurturing, most people consider you to be a mother figure. |

Good morning everyone!
She bides us good morning, we're open today
to look for trinkets to buy from a land faraway.
This place where we gather, an oasis each day
quiet and peace we extol-
spiced with muse from the hand of WayzataJohnn, oh so grand!
