My Dragonfly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Well that didn't last long. The beginning of Spiderman 3 is sappy emotional crap, then the whiz bang started with the first villain.
I got the impression the movie, being the third in the series, was pretty much high tech effects and nothing else. Plus the cafe TVs were small and far away, so I had a banana shake, then headed back to the Internet cafe.
Probably turn in soon, all the running around plus the tropical sun makes one quite weary (in a good way!).
I'll catch Spiderman 3 when I have a better view and am in the mood for mindless but impressive special effects.

I am so out of it regarding Spiderman movies, LOL I have not seen one of them.
Well, sorry it was a flop for you, maybe you’re just tired and need to crash for the night.
I was watching Blade Runner the other day and nodded off, missed the end of it. Oh well, there will be another viewing at some point.
Have a good sleep, see you next time around. :)

Off the Beaten Path
Tis a far distant place ye show me,
of a land so truly strange as time.
And I sit here, spending not a dime,
and the world about is there ta see.
A painting of a wind twisted tree,
a statue of a thinker, he surely be.
And a dragon no less, fer all ta see.
amid the rains, across a wide deep sea.
Little people walkn in a soft sweet rain
as like ta those o home as Ive walk in
such a wondrous sight me day ta begin
and such a sight not ta shun or lightly disdain.
Over coffee I travel far, cup by cup, I do,
and explore a hidden alley there with care.
And see the wonders hiding there,
as we become explores finding true.

There's sunshine in the heart of me, My blood sings in the breeze; The mountains are a part of me, I'm fellow to the trees. My golden youth I'm squandering, Sun-libertine am I; A-wandering, a-wandering, Until the day I die.
I was once, I declare, a Stone-Age man, And I roomed in the cool of a cave; I have known, I will swear, in a new life-span, The fret and the sweat of a slave: For far over all that folks hold worth, There lives and there leaps in me A love of the lowly things of earth, And a passion to be free.
To pitch my tent with no prosy plan, To range and to change at will; To mock at the mastership of man, To seek Adventure's thrill. Carefree to be, as a bird that sings; To go my own sweet way; To reck not at all what may befall, But to live and to love each day.
To make my body a temple pure Wherein I dwell serene; To care for the things that shall endure, The simple, sweet and clean. To oust out envy and hate and rage, To breathe with no alarm; For Nature shall be my anchorage, And none shall do me harm.
To shun all lures that debauch the soul, The orgied rites of the rich; To eat my crust as a rover must With the rough-neck down in the ditch. To trudge by his side whate'er betide; To share his fire at night; To call him friend to the long trail-end, And to read his heart aright.
To scorn all strife, and to view all life With the curious eyes of a child; From the plangent sea to the prairie, From the slum to the heart of the Wild. From the red-rimmed star to the speck of sand, From the vast to the greatly small; For I know that the whole for good is planned, And I want to see it all.
To see it all, the wide world-way, From the fig-leaf belt to the Pole; With never a one to say me nay, And none to cramp my soul. In belly-pinch I will pay the price, But God! let me be free; For once I know in the long ago, They made a slave of me.
In a flannel shirt from earth's clean dirt, Here, pal, is my calloused hand! Oh, I love each day as a rover may, Nor seek to understand. To enjoy is good enough for me; The gipsy of God am I; Then here's a hail to each flaring dawn! And here's a cheer to the night that's gone! And may I go a-roaming on Until the day I die!
Then every star shall sing to me Its song of liberty; And every morn shall bring to me Its mandate to be free. In every throbbing vein of me I'll feel the vast Earth-call; O body, heart and brain of me Praise Him who made it all!

Super poem! Wonderful graphic.

I did a lot to that photo to make it so dramatic.
It almost came out looking like a painting.

Oh you are so good, I really mean it. It’s sharp and clear, something I need to work on. Really though I think there is something wrong with my eyes, I have trouble discerning a little fuzzy and clear. ;(
I am due for an eye check next month.

What software did you use to enhance the photo?

Paint Shop Pro 9. Paint Shop Pro 11 is out and could be around $79.
Used to be www.jasc.com and that URL now redirects to Corel which bought it a couple years ago.
They also bought Jasc’s Animation Shop, which I use.

Good luck with yours.

That’s a superb piece Wayzata! Nice Gaelic brogue, and interesting "period piece" flavor.
I believe a might touch of "salty dog" is in there as well.
I'll try to have Off The Beaten Path tours live up to the swirling hills of clover and swishing seas your piece invokes!
