The Dragonflies' Lair ~ Thread XXXVII~May, June 2007

My Dragonfly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

I don’t have a place for roses in my yard..I just find pictures of lovely roses and post them!

I once had roses and enjoy my daughter’s when I am there.

There were roses here when I moved in a long time ago, but they had been FTD plants and didn’t last long in this horrible soil and light; roses don’t grow with so much shade. Got other stuff, though.

You had t-storms last week, too, didn’t you?

Yep, sure did and more to come. We did have rain today, hope this is the end of it for today, not sure about that.

Hi Meg!

Oh such a lovely garden picture.

The rain surely perked things up didn’t it?

Hope your day is grand.

We could use a little rain. No shortage, but lawns could use an inch or two.

;o)

Wish those were mine! This season of rain is unusual in my memory..I am usually praying for rain..

The sun has come out again and the trees and groundcover sparkle.

This rain we had today was a gentle rain, winds did blow for a short time, but then the shower came and went.

There were flash flood warnings today in my city....Many areas in Texas have flooded recently.

We have had good rains..Others have had over 20 inches of rain in the last week!

Oh my goodness, that is a lot of rain. ;( Snow is not fun to deal with, but easier than water I think. Floods just do so much damage.

There were 5 deaths from flash flooding..Many high water rescues..

My home is not in an area that floods..I never drive when heavy rains may fall..I almost got swept downstream once and learned a hard lesson.

I it pretty dry outside. Humidity is only 22%. I was just out cleaning the driveway and we definitely could use the sort of shower you just had.

I like the poem and it reflects the many hardships that our servicemen and women endure on a daily and personal basis.

Thank you..No..I don’t have a proper place for for roses..I have too much shade..which I love in the summer.

I love to stroll through rose gardens..at my daughter’s or on the internet..This one pleased me so I posted it.

We just had more rain..but the cake is out of the oven..no thunder, no power outage..It’s a good day!
