My Dragonfly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Good poem. The echo of Taps will be resounding throughout the land this weekend.

Reverberations
Drawn from the deepest recesses of your memory I suspect. Sad and beautiful poem. Thank You.

Look at you, #1000 post today!
Good to see you so soon. I like our good friends of the Lair popping in and out.
Well, it is going to be a wonderful day weather wise, starting off with 68F in temps and not going over 77F, we may have some rain this afternoon. I did not use the a/c yesterday nor does it look it I will need it today.
Yep, I think you are need to buy your laptop real soon, just so you can kick back and surf from your home. Be sure to get in big amounts of carry out food! LOL

Coffee is brewed and I slept like a log, great nights for sleeping - not hot at all.

I'll do it! Some real chow mein, plus things Americans wouldn't recognize as Chinese food (but are darn tasty (or maybe I'm just acclimated to them!))
Great graphic in post #1002!

I’m rather old fashion and do appreciate traditional art work from WWII, I grew up during that war.
We have some good Chinese, Japanese, and Thai, restaurants here.

Soldier Soldier I know you soldier. Your brave exterior Conceals a heart that cares. Your instinct to protect, Goes beyond what's expected. And your willingness to die... Hides tears inside alone you cry!
Soldier Soldier, Spit shined and processed. With nerves of steel, In fields to deflect with precision and defend. No one but your comrades feel... Those bold stances taken until the end. My heart is shakened by your zeal!
And if' your footsteps should leave prints In pools of splattered blood, It uncovers a fear you may smother... And we back and cheer you, soldier! Soldier? Soldier... I know you soldier! So proud I am to know you like I do! So aware I am of you, soldier. Sacrifices you make... Elevates my thoughts of you!
In Dedication: To all the men and women who wear uniforms to protect the rights of values they protect! One day acts of WAR, violence and misunderstandings will come to an end! No one experiences heartbreak like those on battlefields miles away from places they call home feeling alone and dedicated to missions with uncertain outcomes!
