Except, this was not paid for out of a “News” budget. It was reported to be out of their “Entertainment” division.
The ‘deal’ was well publized at the time and NBC gave an official statement stating they made a deal with LB. Where’s the problem? You lost me on that one.

As “nature” posted above, the blogger has the news division mixed up with the entertainment division. The NBC shows and cable network - Access Hollywood, Bravo, MSNBC talk shows - are the ones who inked the deal with LB.

His Today Show appearance(s) - which I didn’t see - were just spillover from the footage and content of those negotiated packages. The “infotainment” sector tends to fool those who aren’t familiar with it.

Note that even on the Today Show, there is only a 5-minute or less segment on straight news per half-hour and all the rest is feature productions.

Have you read the Agreements Opri has with her filing?
Two: LRA (legal rep agreement) and FA (Fee agreement)
Fee agreement is with Corporation.
Anyway, what am I missing here?
One says balance must be 1,000.00 and the FA says balance must always be at least 2,500.00.

I have never heard of this before.
The LRA refers to ‘your account’
The FA refers to a client-attorney trust account

That's why Howard hired the "hit" attorney...the one that told the media (and anyone else) to shut up or be sued. It's evidence of the lengths he had to go to "stop a trial by media". Kinda like his "video evidence" games.

About the same time, I think they showed that clip of Howard saying: "Do you think that Anna would protect me if I had harmed Daniel in any way". (I always thought they released this accidently).

I'll bet the Anna statement to police says the same thing....In other words, she will be the chief witness FOR HOWARD.

Of course, the statement to the police would have been made well after Daniel died and well rehearsed with the help of KE and Howard.

Remember, Anna had a "memory loss" of the event, was drugged and whisked away. That was all said in the FIRST report by Anna's former Attorney, Michael Scott who was let go shortly after.

If Howard doesn't show up in the Bahamas for the inquest, he cannot be compelled to come there.

Was Howard at this last meeting to set the date?? We don't even know.

Any of these witnesses who are USA citizens cannot be compelled to come. And why isn't KE listed as a witness? She saw Daniel just before he left for the Bahamas.

I think you are right Rte66. I think the deal would be, I will raise the money for your legal bills and either A) Raised the ‘legal bill’ to astronomical levels not realizing the money making ability she had on her hands with LB or B) Decided that you are my slave and any and all proceeds are MINE! Either way, it’s not right and Larry finally woke up and realized that he got snookered.

I don’t think Debri shouldn’t make any money for her LEGAL WORK, but not for being his agent. Those are two totally seperate thing, IMO. But I don’t think Larry is gay and it was a big giant conspiracy on he and HKS scheme from the start as some tinfoil hatters have suggested on here. And I don’t think that HKS is behind the lawsuit. If anything I have learned from watching him through this entire thing... Larry has a mind (and conviction to do things he feels is right) on his own. And I do believe he loved Anna. The Non-HKS Anna. Even I was smitten with her humor and beauty. I have been in a toxic relationship with a very handsome man, who was completely not good for me. A complete narcissist who left me a crumpled heap in the end. I learned my lesson, but I also left fighting for the wellbeing of my children with him. And my current husband (learned well from the last bad choice) DID fight for his child. His wife left him and didn’t tell him where his son is and he tracked them down, prosecuted for kidnapping and raised him alone from five years until I met him 10 years later. There ARE men who care about their children. And mine (the good one, regarding our child together) would have fought me across the world if I left while pregnant. Not all men are child support avoiding pigs.

I was joking - jeez - lighten up - actually I think the dry cleaning was just part of her hotel bill that was submitted in full and not checked for small inappropriate items.

Well, no, I only think the contract DO negotiated for him, by his agreement, with the express purpose of paying his legal bills with her, is the one she is entitled to the proceeds from - to go into her client trust account for disbursement accordingly.

Seems like a win-win situation to me. He was making other contracts with other media elsewhere, on his own. I don’t know why this particular one is sticking in his craw so badly.

An addendum to my post linked here. Evidently, Opri’s booking agency, IMG, got a commission on the contract, so that was the other part taken out of the $1,050,000 to reduce it to $865,000 - so there isn’t any remainder still to come.

I misunderstood and didn’t take that into consideration.

I think there's another reason for Larry pulling this cr** but I can't put my finger on it. Maybe something to do with taxes.

It would have been income to HIM ($1 mil +)and it would have been considered as monies received at the time depending on how the account was set up. (Similar to my landlord holding a month's rent.)

I think I noticed that Larry mentioned something about taxes in this whole thing. Maybe he only claimed the $200,000 that she disbursed to him and he got caught.

Probably because he wanted to deduct her fee as the “cost of doing business”. That’s a big no, no.

I really don’t think Opri’s bill is astronomical at all. $475 is not cheap but it’s certainly out of line. Who recommended her?? I don’t believe she was the initiator. He chose a female attorney for a reason.
