Let's face it...Anna was a cheap hustler and a whiner since she went her own way in her youth. And without the big bazoombas, well, she was just plain big.

If Anna was poor and unknown, would Larry have raised his hand??

Did the money go into the attorney's account so Howard couldn't lay claim to it just in case Larry wasn't the father?? I'll bet that's what the deal really was.

Looks like Larry has gone the way of Anna and Howard. "Sue Me" and "I'll sue you".

I imagine Howard is telling Larry that he'll win hands down. Of course, Howard hasn't won anything yet via the courts.

LB was a “sperm donor”. You know, that makes me think of that psychic I read that said that LB WAS the father but it was artificial insemination. Who knows!? At any rate, I am beginning to believe that LB is more gay than not.

I'd say it is likely that Larry was on drugs at some point and Howard has something on Larry that just might ruin his boy next door image.

Remember those emails that the bi**** female attorney brought up and the sign off that Larry said he made on some "confidential agreement"....under duress.

In this case, I'd say "duress" means "blackmail" and the whole affair had little to do with the emails. Larry signed off and agreed to go away because Howard has something on him. Howard is the typical "evil man" in every movie....the liar, the blackmailer, the sneak, the agitator, the confidant (Never mind the "M" word)....

He's the perfect candidate for the program "Numbers" and I just might write them.

His whining isn’t the same as wanting your child. HE signed a contract. That will be honored. Mr money bags can’t argue show me the money on one hand and then whine I only wanted my daughter and meanie OD kept my money on the other. Read the agreement, it is spelled out. He might get a bit shaved down but no free lunch this time.

Have YOU read the contract? So you KNOW the contract said she got to keep $600,000 of HIS money and bill him for her laundry and dinners. Yeah, poor Opri.

The Houston probate trial in Marshall v Marshall ended in March 2001, with Anna losing. Then in late May 2001, the big $475 million “award” in the CA bankruptcy was overturned.

She was not having a good year.

He agreed to allow her to negotiate deals for him that would raise funds to pay her fees - thus her representation of him would not cost him as much as it would otherwise.

She doesn’t have that money - it’s in the client trust account. She has to justify getting her cut of it and he has to justify shaving her bill down, in order to pay her.

Client's Trust Account or Attorney's Trust Account? I get checks cut to me all the time from the Attorney's Trust Account. It is authorized by the original deal which was negotiated between the attorney and his client which says he will do this and that person will be paid from the profits in the trust account.

It looks like Larry is REALLY saying that the third party (media) shouldn't have deposited it with Opri. I think Larry was PERHAPS trying to hide assets by authorizing the involvement of the third party.

It doesn’t *belong* to either party - it’s a “Client Trust Account.” Both have signing privileges on it - but lots of paperwork has to be filed to take anything out of it and the client’s part of it is just to put money in it.

It’s mostly for services that will require a lot of outlay on the client’s behalf and the person performing the services doesn’t want to get stuck out on a limb without payment from the client.

The services person, because they’re in the business of performing that service on a regular basis, gets discounts and benefits that the client couldn’t get on his or her own, so it’s best for the client to have the service person perform the work and get the most value for the dollars spent.

In my case, not a law practice, I had to put out huge amounts of money for buying media time, printing, and hiring out other services - amounts I couldn’t front without client contracts or a trust account to back them.

I can’t believe everyone here is so willing to villify Larry and justify Debri Opri, even to the point of coming up with off the wall reasons why her husband’s laundry bill is on her legal bill! It’s reaching the level of “Because Anna would have wanted it that way” reaching that HKS pulls.
