I thought I'd read somewhere here or from an article that Daniel saw/spoke to the PI only a couple of weeks before he left for the Bahamas and died. That's what I was going by, and perhaps I misread that somewhere.

That's very interesting. Maybe they did start the process at home. As i've said early early on here i suspected she was being sequestered at the HR for detox. And since KE was there it bolsters that argument. And KE was at the house prior to that so perhaps it has been going on since Dannielynn was born. HKS had to have been really troubled by this. On the one hand, he needed to keep her drugged so she wouldn't think about Daniels death and his possible/probable involvement. On the other hand, he needed her to be sober in order to keep Dannielynn. Even tho he probably didn't want Dannielynn around, he needed her because eventually Anna would change the will to include the little one and HKS needed to have her. Does this make any sense?
And i never got a response to the question i asked to somebody about whether or not there was a Trimspa event that Anna needed to be at at the HR. If there wasn't, then why did they have to bring her to FLA? Were they threatening her "you can't see your baby until you're off the drugs."?
In one report, the medicines in Daniel included Zoloft, Lexapro, trace amount of Ambien, the methadone, benadryl, and a trace amount of some undisclosed med. He hated to fly and could have had a cold/flu prior to flying, so I could understand the benadryl and we know he was on prescribed Lexapro. The Ambien he must have taken quite some time before he died. So, where did he get the unprescribed meds from is the question and where was he when he got them?
I recall seeing a photo of Anna at a boxing match and it was rumored that she was doing shooters of tequilla that night, but I don't know if there was a TrimSpa event or not. Anyone remember??
He might've used the Ambien for the flight. Which wouldn't jive with "Howard, why am i so sleepy?"
That is probably the likeliest scenario. Reading about spousal murders, it seems to take from 2-6 months between the decision to kill and the killing itself. Planning takes time.
What is throwing me off in this case, I believe, is the length of time Howard watched Anna self-destruct. My instinct is that he finally viewed her life as having no value.
I don't think he planned Daniel's death - I believe Daniel confronted him as being a fraud - blood sucker - enabler -opportunist and was killed as a result.
Anna's fate was sealed when she realized HK$ killed Daniel. She was dead within 6 months from plan to execution.

A 42-year-old female drug user who was enrolled in a methadone maintenance program was found dead in her apartment. Cause of death was an intoxication with chloral hydrate and L-methadone. Trichloroethanol (TCE), the primary metabolite of chloral hydrate, was quantified by solid phase microextraction (SPME) and GC/MS in heartblood (27 micrograms/ml) and urine (338 micrograms/ml). D- and L-methadone were differentiated by chiral HPLC, which showed that only L-methadone had been taken. The quantitation of L-methadone and its metabolite EDDP was carried out by GC/MS from heartblood (1300 ng/ml and 86 ng/ml, respectively), urine (5239 ng/ml and 4960 ng/ml, respectively) and gastric contents (159 ng/ml and 122 ng/ml, respectively). The concentrations of both--trichloroethanol and methadone--were in toxic ranges.

I'm not so convinced that it wasn't premeditated. Yes, Daniel probably did P him off in the car, but remember the fact that Daniel was going to take over as executor of the estate when he turned 21. Of course, maybe he could've done it at the house at a later time but that would make it look more suspicious.

I don't know, I would have trademarked that saying too. Especially since it is the only thing on his website and there would be multiple people wanting to use that phrase in a movie and not give him the credit for his own life.
Maybe she was trying to plant the seed that Daniel was a druggie. And if that is the case, then we can go out on a limb and assume this is proof of premeditation or at least Operation CYA of Daniels death. IOW KE said something like "See Daniel was on all these drugs for a long time and altho i tried to talk him out of it he wouldn't listen? So see it was an accidental OD. Shame shame what a terrible tragedy"
