Opri would not quit over a simple reason. She has way too much invested in this case. Something real bad had to happen. Some truth came out. She won't go down as an attorney who failed! Pitbulls always keep their teeth in. Why did she drop her meat?

If I were her, I'd be angry. Opri's been doing LB a favor. Can you imagine how much all this has cost? No way can LB afford someone of her caliber on an $80k income.

I don't. But even if Larry gets the dna approval it'll take time for the test to be done and then more time for custody to be switched over. But if Virgie goes in there with the evidence that HKS is unfit, she has a better chance of getting immediate temporary custody because she doesn't need DNA to prove she's a blood relative.

Stern WAS on the stand when Seidlin took the call from Perper. I wish I could see if he wrote something down. What I do remember is that the Hydomorphine was kinda a separate question...not one of the "depressants" Howard fessed to.

This was in that report, too: Howard said that both he and Daniel attempted to speak to her about drug use but I don't remember that. I think this was CNN and I just googled around and found it.

Jack Harding did say on GVS last night that Daniel told him he was afraid of HKS and of what he was doing to his mother.

It's fine for her to be angry - but it is not professional for her to act that way in front of the cameras. We shall see if she acts professional or she decides to act jaded.

The worse thing she can do is come out complaining about the money she has invested in this.

Birkhead, Attorney Part Ways

(CBS/AP) Celebrity-attorney Debra Opri announced Friday that she is no longer representing Larry Birkhead, the photographer who says he's the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby.

"Larry Birkhead and I have terminated our attorney-client relationship effective immediately. I wish Larry the very best of luck in his continuing efforts to prove that he is Dannielynn's biological father. My prayers will be with Larry and Dannielynn always," a statement said.

The Web site TMZ reported Friday that it was Birkhead who terminated the relationship and that they had been butting heads over various issues for weeks.

The announcement comes as another court hearing was scheduled to take place Friday in the continuing saga over the late star-crossed celebrity.

It's in the Bahamas' Supreme Court and it's a tussle over who gets custody of Smith's baby daughter, Dannielynn.

Several people claim to be the father. Lawyers for Birkhead are asking for a DNA test. Birkhead, who says he's been putting a nursery together in California, plans to be in court.

Smith's companion, Howard K. Stern, isn't expected to be in court Friday. Listed as the father on the baby's birth certificate, Stern remains in seclusion with the baby at Smith's seaside villa in the Bahamas.
