As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!
Good morning!!
We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!
It's official.
Global warming has decided to shut itself in the closet because it is too cold outside.
While we're at it, let's talk about global warming a bit shall we? We'll call this segment Inconvenient Facts.
Global Warming Assertion Number 1 - The amount of carbon dioxide in the air is increasing and this, in turn, is warming the planet.
Inconvenient Fact 1 - Yes, carbon dioxide levels are increasing. They are up some 40 or so percent above levels many decades ago. With that, it seems someone remembered high school earth science and the greenhouse effect--carbon dioxide in the atmosphere heats the planet by trapping radiant heat, much as glass in a house does. True enough. But one important fact is missing in each and every discussion. The amount of trapping is not linear. Or at least it's not linear at the levels in the atmosphere, which must be measured in parts per billion. If that were true, we'd all be toast as ambient temperatures would be 40 percent higher than a century ago--instead of 290K, it would be running somewhere around 410K--and that is above the boiling point of water (373K). There's also another point left out--at what point does it matter? It is agreed there would be a level that would be a problem, but what is that level? No one seems to be able to tell us--probably because where not there.
Global Warming Assertion 2 - The increase in carbon dioxide, warming the planet, has led to an increase in ocean temperatures.
Inconvenient Fact 2 - Yes, the oceans are warming in a general trend over the last few decades. It isn't due, however, to carbon dioxide from above, there's simply not enough heat energy radiating on the planet to change the temperatures of the ocean that quickly--water is, essentially, a heat sink as it takes a tremendous amount of energy to actually heat it. No, the heat is coming from below. Increased volcanic activity along the mid-Atlantic ridge and in hot spots across the middle of the Pacific are heating the ocean from below (akin to boiling water on the stove). Vents with temperatures of 700K (for the scientifically uninclined, subtract about 270--273.15 actually--from the K value to achieve the C temperature) have been located in these places in increasing numbers the last couple of years. Now, gasses tend not to stay in solution when water heats up, and there is a significant amount of carbon dioxide available in the oceans as dissolved gas. When the water heats, out comes the carbon dioxide into, yep, the atmosphere, increasing the percentage of the gas in that location. So--how much is natural and how much is caused by mankind?
Global Warming Assertion 3 - The increased temperatures are melting the Arctic Ocean ice pack.
Inconvenient Fact 3 - Well, sort of. Along the northern Canadian coastline, yes, the ice is retreating and Arctic Ocean water is present. Scientists, however, have found volcanic activity along the ridge near the coast there (it's an extension of the mid-Atlantic ridge) in increasing levels over the last decade. There's that 700K water again. Of course the ice melts.
Global Warming Assertion 4 - There are less glaciers and the current glaciers are all retreating.
Inconvenient Fact 4 - There are not less glaciers, there are more. Fully 70% of the existing glaciers in the world are growing. The Antarctic ice pack is increasing in thickness, causing more calving of icebergs. See iceagenow.com for more on this.
Global warming Assertion 5 - Global warming is actually responsible for increased snowfall in the northeast and mid-Atlantic regions.
Inconvenient Fact 5 - Well, that's been beat up enough here. Even lake effect snows require cold air, the colder the more snow.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Hi IG,
I had no idea you were an elected rep. I figured you did something in the Republican party though.
You've done a great service to your State and have the opportunity to do more now.
Maybe you want to come to MN and help us out - hah! I see Ramstad from the 3rd District voted for the House resolution against Irag today. It does no good for me to complain to his office as I am not in his district and they wouldn't [pay any attention to my complaints. Thank goodness I have Michelle Bachmann as my rep.
Hi lysie,
I loved your post about the fellow who started out loving the snow. I was so funny and I'm still chuckling over it.
From the beginning of that Al Quaeda video, you could tell it was false. That post they claimed to overrun was deserted when they were busy "gathering intelligence".
What I particularly liked was the battle in the dark. You couldn't tell if anyone but Al Quaeda was shooting. And, if it was really a NATO/American post, where were the helios to help defend from the attack?
I loved the Lays potato chips. Betcha they couldn't eat just one.
Funny, and yet, not. LOL
Hello. We went to the Casino for our Valentine's Dinner tonite. That Blasted White Stuff is falling out of the sky again, but the temp is 20 degrees. I didn't even zip my coat to and from the car.
Spring is inching in on us, little by little.
My husband had to take me out this evening and keep me distracted because I literally was ready to drive to DC and bash some heads in.
As God is my witness, if one of those Democrats walked through my door, I'd pound the living crap out of him. And happily.
What this has probably done to the morale of our military and their families is beyond repair, imo. And then the Democrats turn around and try to supress their votes on election day!
My husband gets Civil War News magazine and read me a story about how the Democrats tried to supress the votes during an election held during the Civil War! This has been going on for eternity and that we haven't found a way to alert the voting public to what the Rats are all about is nearly as big an indictment against us as it is against them.
Rant over.
God speed, sweetie pie.
FYI, we just got on the school's system. NOW, the youngest is kicking me off my own computer. The table, er window, has turned.
Also, while on my bicycle today, I ran into a bee and he stung me. As soon as I could I've taken some benadryl. I'm off to la la land now.
God love you, JT, and may he hold you in the safety of the palm of his hand.
You are our warrior and we thank you for loving your country enough to make the sacrifices you make daily.
Love to hear from you JT. Say thanks to your buddies for us. We love you, pray for you and are darn proud you're following in our foot prints. Stay safe and give them hell.
Everyone remains in my prayers.

Johnny! It is good to hear from you. Thanks for surfacing.
Good morning to the Dawn Patrol! Time to be up and at 'em.
Good Morning to the Dawn Patrol.
We're getting a little itty bitty s*** today.
Good morning. Waiting for coffee.
Good Morning. I am about to hit the shower. I have two town meetings this morning, the first is 45 miles away. It begins at 7:30.
It was snowing and blowing last night when we came home from the Casino Buffet outing. I will leave a little early because I'll be traveling part of the way on County Roads that may not be plowed yet.
I will return mid afternoon, after my errands are run.
We are off to take Sarah to work. BBL
Mozie, I join you in total disgust.. the socialist RATs it was expected ...but the 17 Pubs makes my blood boil..Our rep Steve LaTourette is among them. I am calling his office & sending email & Snail mail. I supported him, put signs in yard, campaigned for him, broke bread with him... Now he will get a piece of my mind - three fold
Fortunately our president is determined as long as he serves to not put out the white flag
Good to see you. Been thinking of you & hope all is going well..
HUGS SWEETIE
Woke up to 19 degrees after being promised only 21 degrees....those weathermen can't even get 1 morning's temperature right, so why should we believe their global warming predictions for 100 years from now? Oh, it's "climate chance" now? Of course, the climate (seasons) periodically changes. The whole world is going mad, I tell ya.
My coffee isn't strong enough to make me "see" how those 17 Republicans who voted w/the Dems yesterday will be able to face their constituents when they ask to be re-elected.
Snow in Tennessee means it's acoming my way, Rave. You've already had more than your share of it, lysie. Granny, please be careful driving on that climate change stuff, and Dolly and Jemian...good morning to ya!
