AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 2217) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | February 16, 2007 | All of Us

Posted on 02/16/2007 5:33:38 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!

Good morning!!

We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!

It's official.

Global warming has decided to shut itself in the closet because it is too cold outside.

While we're at it, let's talk about global warming a bit shall we? We'll call this segment Inconvenient Facts.

Global Warming Assertion Number 1 - The amount of carbon dioxide in the air is increasing and this, in turn, is warming the planet.

Inconvenient Fact 1 - Yes, carbon dioxide levels are increasing. They are up some 40 or so percent above levels many decades ago. With that, it seems someone remembered high school earth science and the greenhouse effect--carbon dioxide in the atmosphere heats the planet by trapping radiant heat, much as glass in a house does. True enough. But one important fact is missing in each and every discussion. The amount of trapping is not linear. Or at least it's not linear at the levels in the atmosphere, which must be measured in parts per billion. If that were true, we'd all be toast as ambient temperatures would be 40 percent higher than a century ago--instead of 290K, it would be running somewhere around 410K--and that is above the boiling point of water (373K). There's also another point left out--at what point does it matter? It is agreed there would be a level that would be a problem, but what is that level? No one seems to be able to tell us--probably because where not there.

Global Warming Assertion 2 - The increase in carbon dioxide, warming the planet, has led to an increase in ocean temperatures.

Inconvenient Fact 2 - Yes, the oceans are warming in a general trend over the last few decades. It isn't due, however, to carbon dioxide from above, there's simply not enough heat energy radiating on the planet to change the temperatures of the ocean that quickly--water is, essentially, a heat sink as it takes a tremendous amount of energy to actually heat it. No, the heat is coming from below. Increased volcanic activity along the mid-Atlantic ridge and in hot spots across the middle of the Pacific are heating the ocean from below (akin to boiling water on the stove). Vents with temperatures of 700K (for the scientifically uninclined, subtract about 270--273.15 actually--from the K value to achieve the C temperature) have been located in these places in increasing numbers the last couple of years. Now, gasses tend not to stay in solution when water heats up, and there is a significant amount of carbon dioxide available in the oceans as dissolved gas. When the water heats, out comes the carbon dioxide into, yep, the atmosphere, increasing the percentage of the gas in that location. So--how much is natural and how much is caused by mankind?

Global Warming Assertion 3 - The increased temperatures are melting the Arctic Ocean ice pack.

Inconvenient Fact 3 - Well, sort of. Along the northern Canadian coastline, yes, the ice is retreating and Arctic Ocean water is present. Scientists, however, have found volcanic activity along the ridge near the coast there (it's an extension of the mid-Atlantic ridge) in increasing levels over the last decade. There's that 700K water again. Of course the ice melts.

Global Warming Assertion 4 - There are less glaciers and the current glaciers are all retreating.

Inconvenient Fact 4 - There are not less glaciers, there are more. Fully 70% of the existing glaciers in the world are growing. The Antarctic ice pack is increasing in thickness, causing more calving of icebergs. See iceagenow.com for more on this.

Global warming Assertion 5 - Global warming is actually responsible for increased snowfall in the northeast and mid-Atlantic regions.

Inconvenient Fact 5 - Well, that's been beat up enough here. Even lake effect snows require cold air, the colder the more snow.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

The House Dems compounded their traitorous behavior by sitting on their hands and not clapping w/the other side of the aisle (R) at the end of Sam Johnson's speech. They don't appreciate a REAL AMERICAN and his sacrifice and service for his country. We used to have statesmen; now, we just have self-serving politicians.

Good evening. I hope you are doing well.

I wish algore could send you some global warming. Heck, I wish I had some global warming here. [Paging algore to the white courtesy phone...]

I am so worried about my grandkids.

The only facts that I can offer are, the U.S. is still producing warriors, and that the Lord looks favorable upon us. Don't know why, but He does.

I know you are right. However, I remember living through the Carter years, and I would spare them something similar, if not worse.

This day makes me determined to write my history of these years, so that my grandchildren and their descendents will know the truth about what has transpired.

Good for you. That's more than likely the only source they will have, and coming from you, they'll know that is authentic.

My older grandchildren already are asking me about current events and how it was "when you were young, grandma". If we don't impart what we know to be true because we lived it, then they will be prey for any propaganda thrown their way. I don't want my progeny to grow up to be ignorant dunderheads, and neither do you.

Don't know why, maybe because it's...However, I remember living through the Carter years, and I would spare them something similar, if not worse.

That SOB put me in a Muslim country, at a place that didn't exist...with conditions worse than GITMO, and with a democRAT congress that didn't pay me (the ENTIRE Military) for TWO MONTHS! No continuing resolution, no budget, and that peanut farmer had a MAJORITY in congress (lower case on purpose).

Water up to my ying yang in a foxhole, four hours of electricity a day, no hot water and f'n C-rats THREE TIMES A DAY!

Jimmah Cahter is a POS in my book. A democRATs can never be CIC again. I've lived through too many of them. Many as a soldier.

I'm sorry, this house resolution has brought out the worst in me.

They did capture something...a bag of Lays potatoe chips.

Its a hoot to watch.

With those memories of the nightmarish Carter years....those 4 years seemed like 40 years, you have EVERY right...even more than most of us...to thunder at what has happened today and vow that it never happen again.

Let me thank you for your service, and especially for it under those unbearable circumstances.

I am taking a break from my self-imposed exile to say that I am thoroughly disgusted with the House of Representatives and their vote for defeat. My heart aches for my son, who gave up a year of his life, and for JemiansTerror, who is doing it right now, and for all of those who have sacrificed so much in the name of freedom, especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Thank God the resolution is non-binding; but the damage to the morale of our brave men and women in uniform, and the message being sent to our enemies, is appalling and it is inexcusable. For the good of our country and our military, Nancy Pelosi and her cronies MUST be de-throned in '08.

And a curse on the 17 Republicans who voted with the traitors. Shame on them.

Back to lurk mode.

Pelosi (FNC) made the announcement that "This sets the stage for a new beginning...." Ominous.

Well, it also sets the stage for the defeat of all those traitors...LIARS...who do say they do but do NOT support our troops.

One funny to lower the BP: Someone posted that Kerry said today that he had been "a troop" in Vietnam. LOL)

Thank you so much for sharing with us the pictures of Josh, Jemian! It's so good to be able to put a face on the person you are praying for. He's a very handsome boy and I know he is a good and proud soldier. I am so proud of him and all the others.

Continued prayers for the safety of all of them and for success of their mission.

I was so happy to see a picture of you. I'm so proud of you and all the men and women over there and there are MANY of us who feel that way. Thank you for protecting our freedom. You are the greatest!

Oh, and keep your head down!
