Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.
Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.
Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."
Hmmm...I wouldnt think so. I wouldnt think there would be enough water pressure in the pool to exert it on her lungs...but who knows!
Hmmmmmmmmm.....she had a near drowning several months before her death...they did CPR and pounded on her chest....maybe they ruptured her implants...
Here's another two-cents (up to four cents now). Could the use of all those different drugs over a period of time break down the boob material (whatever it is)which would cause a leak?
Very interesting thoughts about the implants, ya'll.
Fits with the 'surprised at what killed her' from Dr. Perper.
I missed something. Does Perper know what killed her?
Could anything done during childbirth or labor rupture one of them.
I guess anything is possible.....remember all the lawsuits re implants several years ago....the major complaint was *flu like* symptoms.....
Implant shells are made of silicone. Same substance that is used to make artificial joints. They can taking quite a walloping. I've known of someone who was kicked in the chest by her horse and the implants held up just fine.
Seminole police Chief Charlie Tiger is in the Bahamas on a fact-finding mission into the death of Anna Nicole Smith, Local 10 has learned.
Tiger was first spotted Monday night in Nassau, where a hearing over the guardianship of Smith's baby daughter was held. Tiger wouldn't say what he was doing there as Local 10's Roger Lohse questioned him as he was leaving his hotel, but it was clear he was not alone.
A team from the Broward County medical examiner's office was accompanying him, as was a Bahamian police detective who drove them from the hotel.
Their presence in the Bahamas is significant because Smith's late son Daniel died there in September from what is believed to be a lethal combination of prescription drugs. The coroner's inquest into his death is scheduled for next month.
A spokesman for the Seminole Police Department, which is the agency handling the Smith case, said Tiger was in Nassau for a non-criminal investigation into her death, in which prescription drugs might also have been the cause.
Sources told Local 10 that Tiger is working closely with Bahamian police, although police there have not commented. Homicide detectives from the Bahamian police met with Tiger in his hotel room Monday, Lohse reported.
Smith died Feb. 8 after collapsing at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla.

LOL...now you can't leave us even if you are sick. We'd miss you!! Plus we don't want anyone taking advantage of you making you sign bad wills and blackmailing Bahamian officials.
Hes just partying!!!
I'm guessing "congenital heart defect" combined with drugs.
I got this off the net from a medical journal:
Disease and Serious illness:
Everyone agrees that implants can cause local complications, such as those listed above. There is much more controversy about whether it can cause diseases or disorders. Some women can have implants for many years and never have any problems, but as the years go by, many women with implants become seriously ill. Common symptoms include joint pain or stiffness, memory problems, trouble concentrating, fatigue, flu-like symptoms that dont go away, or pain throughout the body (fibromyalgia). Auto-immune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and scleroderma are also problems among women with implants.
Stern, Milstein file responses to burial appeal

Attorneys for Anna Nicole Smith's companion Howard K. Stern and Richard Milstein, the guardian of her infant daughter, filed responses today to a petition by Smith's mother seeking to block her daughter from being buried in the Bahamas.
Virgie Arthur on Monday asked the 4th DCA Court of Appeals to stay a decision by Broward County Judge Larry Seidlin ordering Smith to be buried next to her son in the Bahamas. The court gave Stern and Milstein, guardian to Dannielynn Stern, until 2 p.m. today to file their response.
Stern's attorney argued that Bahamian law, not Florida law, should govern how the case is decided. He disputed Arthur's contention that Stern had no legal standing to seek Smith's burial in the Bahamas, noting that he is the executor of her estate and is "duty bound" under Bahamaian law to have her buried there.
Even under Florida law, Stern has the right to seek Smith's burial in the Bahamas, stated June Hoffman, Stern's appellate attorney.
Hoffman argued in the brief that Smith had told numerous people of her desire to be buried next to her son.
"We're confident. Ultimately, I think Anna Nicole's wishes will be honored," Hoffman said.
Krista Barth, the attorney who represented Stern in Seidlin's courtroom, pointed out that Arthur, who had an estranged relationship with Smith and hadn't seen her daughter in 12 years, is the only person who doesn't want Smith buried in the Bahamas.
Even Larry Birkhead, the photographer who claims he is the father of Smith's daughter, agrees with Stern, who also claims paternity, about the burial.
"Mr. Birkhead and Mr. Stern are completely in line with wanting to bury Anna in the Bahamas. On this point I can say their unified," Barth said.

I thought I read Perper's comment on this thread.
I could have misunderstood.
Hope I'm not causing confusion!
Back to lurking...lol.

Posted before - childbirth stimulates milk production. Unless a mother has been given a medication to dry up the milk (and even if she has) the breasts will produce milk.
A condition known as mastoiditis can cause congestion and hardening of the breasts.
sorry - should be mastitis
It's the one strike against him that he would even sleep with her! As much as I'm rooting for the guy......there is THAT!
