Posted on 02/08/2007 12:39:03 PM PST by kcvl

Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.

Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.

Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."

As it stands today

Anna was not a citizen of the Bahamas, she is still a US citizen - she only holds a permanent residency permit which is very much in question at this point.

Stern is on a visitors pass

The baby is a US Citizen (but in limbo because she needs a passport or special papers for her to enter the US now) - But she is not a Bahamian Citizen. There is no automatic citizenship in the Bahama unless one or both parents of the child is a Bahamian citizen. The baby can apply for citizenship at the age of 18 and only then will they consider it and it depends on where she has stayed during her first 18 years of life. (let's say she lived on the island 40% of the time but live in the USA 60% of the time during those first 18 years. They may not give her citizenship because she had spent most of her time in the US. They are very picky about who they give citizenship to in that country.)

I believe the results are completed in a lab within 24 hours. When I googled, all I found were as follows...labs telling consumers when they will receive results by mail.

We guarantee to have the results ready in 5 working days from receipt of samples. A shorter turnaround time of 3 working days or less can be arranged for an additional charge.

Here's something Larry should have done while he accompanied her on doctor's visits:

New technology NON-Invasive Prenatal Paternity testing
Scientific tests can now determine paternity at 12 weeks into a pregnancy using non-invasive testing methods in many cases.

This involves a simple blood sample taken from the pregnant woman's arm. The pregnant female's blood carries the fetus' genetic material which can be compared to the DNA of the alleged father.

In addition to your point, I heard one of the Virgie side's lawyers say that the judge went by a legal process that would be valid IF a body is lying in the morgue UNCLAIMED, and there is a minor child who cannot claim it, so therefore the child needs a GAL to do it. The lawyer pointed out that the body was not unclaimed...that Virgie the Mom showed up to claim it but was refused. Did you hear anything like that? I forget what network I heard it on. Might have been MSNBC and Rita Cosby...

LIFE & STYLE: Many reports have Smith struggling with a severe fever before she died. But Smith seemed vibrant and healthy to one of the last people who saw her. Bobby Trendy, best known as the decorator on "The Anna Nicole Smith Show," tells L&S's Web site that she met with Smith in Hollywood, Fla., two days before her death. "She seemed like her old self, making silly jokes and laughing," Trendy said. "I'm so shocked I can't even tell you. She was in a good mood -- she looked fine, she seemed fine."

the DNA is in Fla FGS

Exactly! If Perper and the ANS DNA are not within FLA ct jurisdiction, then what/who is? FLA judge #2 (Korda?) should order it turned over tomorrow.

I think people like Rita Cosby are clueless to a lot of these details. Greta is the only one even close to telling it like it is.

Yes...

I still think it is possible that Larry isn't the father and the real father won't step forward.

There is a lot of mystery around the involvement of G Ben Thompson and Ford Shelly. I always thought it was weird that she slept with G Ben Thompson and that he seemed to basically supporting her in many ways.

Didn't Larry introduce her to Thompson?

Ben could be the father.

Ford Shelly said he is the one that bought the house but it was not put in his name..it was in Ben Thompson's name. Even that is a little strange.

Interesting, I didn't hear that. I do know for a couple of days they said no one was asking for the body then Virgie asked for it and all heck broke loose.

attached vs detached earlobes.

When doing a search, I saw an article on TMZ that showed pictures of Tom Cruise. A comment said that in one picture they were attached and in another detached. She said that sometimes plastic surgeons will attach a detached earlobe in a face lift to hide scars.

I bet she was hiring him to decorate the yacht for her, there has been a lot written that she was having a designer do it for them.

Well, if that is the case stlnative, it would seem to me that the Bahamians will send Stern and company packing back to the U.S. as far as paternity is concerned.

Cracker's....Also the name of the boat and the name that Anna supposedly called Daniel.

Hmmm....Howard said there was a coporation that he gets money from. I said before that he was laundering through his family. Take huge amounts out and someone is gonna look twice. Bet the brother got called on it and that's why the Horizon money never arrived.

Don't worry. The Gibson's will take him in. We should read that tomorrow.

Boy, this is Scott Peterson all over.

Once in a while Rita gets lucky. She is a ball of fire, breathless and all, and that will get you a few scoops and crucial legal points. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day... (Overused cliche)

The more I think about it, I think that is where I heard an attorney in the case - not Rita herself - come out with the "unclaimed body at the morgue invalid way to handle this case" point against the judge's decision to appoint a guardian to claim the body for a minor child.

I know he had a vasectomy. That doesn't preclude that he could be the father. Either through artificial insemination...or a slip up with the vasectomy. It has been known to happen.
