As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!
Good morning!!
We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!
Repent, sinners, for the end of the world is at hand.
Yes, according to a UN report about to be published, the human race has a total of ten years to get its act together to save the planet, or global warming will doom us all.
Billions, yes, billions--like half the planet (three billions of souls) will go "waterless". Yeah, right. And the other half will see the Sun rise in the West. Wouldn't one think that over the oh so many years that if some area went "waterless" (even the Sonoran Desert--dryest place in North America--isn't "waterless", though an average rainfall of 0.01"/year gets it pretty close), wouldn't the folks, well, move?
But, heck, don't let logic get in the way of a good calamity. After all, diplomonkeys need a good crisis--it justifies their existence.
And nothing on the planet needs more justification for its existance than the United Nations--otherwise abbreviated, quite correctly, as UN. The UNsolvers, those who simply cannot fix anything. Name one item of note the UN has actually fixed (before one says "Korea"--remember that peninsula is still in a legal state of war, a state that has continued for over 55 years).
The report from the UN will indicate coastal flooding over the next 100 years will hit 7 million homes. Large number, but that's worldwide, over the next 100 years. Heck, Fairfax county would probably build 7 million new homes next week.
But wait, they will fix the climate. The UN eko-wacko agency is pressuring the new Secretary-General to call an "emergency climate summit." The screams are coupled with dire statements such as "climate change is one of the most important issues that the international community must address before 2012." Funny how these folks always seem to pick a year coinciding with a United States Presidential election.
Well, maybe not so funny. Consider the United States House of Representatives. It now has a planetary hot air committee--to go along, one would suppose, with their legislative hot air committees. Problem is, they actually have the ability to write laws--and laws are, essentially, abridgements of a person's freedom (though some we do accept for the benefit of society--murder, robbery, etc., so don't go there with counter-arguments).
Then there's the spectre of a DemoncRAT Presidency. Seems the UN is already playing to that, giving the leftists a campaign platform. Talk about manipulating the internal affairs of America.
It is time to abbrogate the San Francisco Agreement. Time to get away from those nutcases and protect what Americans have worked hard to produce. Let the rest of the world starve to death freezing in the dark.
But we also need to ensure the White House is on board--that requires our work for November 2008. The battle lines are being drawn.
Save the planet--get the United States out of the UNnecessary organization.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Yes, I'd noticed that MozartLover has been gone awhile, also...
Iowa, I'm interested in your accounts of the new year with your affairs.
I've been doing some odd cleaning/sorting jobs around the house, and need to head out to mail some things.
I have a cousin living - business - in Poland, and have been collecting books for them and the children. They go to an international school, but there aren't enough English-language books there.
so this a.m. I found a few more bargain books - at the craft store! - to round out the latest box, and away we go...
Toby, I hope your oldest daughter is recovering nicely from her surgery. Love your garden-planning stories, as it gives me hope!!.
OOPS!! Forgot to tell you that after exercizing this a.m. I went to Bob Evans and had......GRITS! Toby, I hope you and I can get together sometime and indulge our great love for this food together. BTW, do you also like Cane Sugar Syrup?? I don't think ABG does, but it's what we had all the time when I was a girl on the Gulf Coast....
Molly, I know you always have the good links, but I'm appealing to everybody who hangs out on this thread.
I need links to Senator David Vitter and Rep. Charles Boustany. And I need them yesterday...
What do you need? Links to their offices?
Here is a link to Sen Vitters bills and votes, if that is what you need.

Hi Peach, maybe the weatherman can't predict weather accurately but I hate to say this doggone arthritis sure can.
I'm off to adjust my attitude.
I just KNOW it is 5:00 pm somewhere, so it's okay.
We're having "weather" tomorrow - so the entire town goes to the grocery store. Not sure why that is in the South, but it's kind of funny.
Dog says it's common up nawth, too.
Carolina, everyone , take care. Is your new heat pump under warranty, Carolina? what a time to fail!
Hello! Welcome to our spot on the forum..
Have a 'tude adjustment for me, too.
So, the hoax was Time Warner advertising for a new cartoon show. Sheesh!!
After all, how many of us would/could ever believe that someone could strap a bomb on their baby?
In today's world my opinion is treat everything as though we are being attacked and never put our defense down. If we do blink, I'm afraid we will get another sucker punch.
I'm warm enough w/the gas logs, but I don't leave them on when I'm asleep, so early mornings are chilly...ok make that COLD. Firing up the logs and the coffee maker does the trick, however.
I've got enough food in the freezer and pantry that I could hole up for months. I did not go to the grocery store today....already have milk, bread, and TP....the 3 essentials. LOL
And high above it in the clear skies a jet was leaving a pink contrail in the light of the setting sun. What a contrast.
How's the Queen of Snowblowing?!
Hello and thanks for the welcome.
This thread is one of my favorites to read.
A little sore...still, but I'm taking it easy. Only light housework for me.
Oh! That would have been a great picture.
