As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!
Good morning!!
We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from harm!!
Hitlery said it would be "the height of irresponsibility" to pass the war in Iraq along to the next President. She also says "she resents it".
On the lighter side, and probably the only truthful thing Hitlery has ever said, she was asked what in her background would enable her to deal with evil men. Her answer: "my background equips me to deal with evil and bad men." No comment from UOx42.
Over 300 insurgents were killed in a battle in Iraq.
The International Criminal Court will decide whether to try a Congolese militiaman for using children in combat in its first trial.
John Kerry was meeting with Khatami, a former President of Iran. He actually said, to the former Iranian President: "So we have a crisis of confidence in the Middle East--in the world, really. I've never seen our country as isolated, as much as a sort of international pariah for a number of reasons as it is today."
And to think, he wanted to be President.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Stopem - what I know about computer stuff could fit on the head of a pin and leave room left over. My understanding is that Vista will replace Windows XP and is the new operating system Microsoft is rolling out today.
I don't think I'll like it from the comments I've read and the reviews in the newspaper, but we pretty much didn't have a choice as far as we knew.
It sounds like a learning curve, to me, and that's about the last thing I needed right now because it's our turn to host 2 neighborhood parties in February and for one of them, I have to come up with a "theme". sigh
Thanks for your suggestions, OND.
We just got home from ordering the computer, which will be here Wednesday, and this one is still limping along. Unfortunately we left before I read your message and so I didn't ask which version of Vista we're getting.
The reviews I've read are pretty negative and my brother mentioned we'll need to make fixes. This is all Greek to me and I sure wish my 13 year old niece lived closer by because she'd be able to help me :-)
Anyway, this is my second message to you because the first one didn't go through. Limping along is probably the kind way to describe this computer.
On a side note, we used up gift certificates to Barnes and Noble today and I got 4 books (mostly about the WOT and politics) and my husband got 5 books, so we did pretty well. Maybe in between bashing our heads into the wall over learning a new operating system and installing a new hard drive, we can read and actually relax a little :-)

The above link takes you to an article about Vista. Not good. Sounds as if your computer is no longer your own.
I'm reading the stories now (I just got up). I am truly sad. He had made so much progress and there had been talk a month ago that he might be released from the hospital.
I read on the thread that the vet said something about good takes a long time, but bad develops in a hurry. That is true about so many things.
Much of my sorrow is also for the owners and caretakers.
Thanks! I'm getting a new laptop in a few weeks and I needed to know this stuff. I've been really confused about it. I remember when Windows 95 came out, many advised us not to get it. Perhaps it is the same with Vista. You are right about the early buyers being the real beta-testers. I didn't switch to 95 right away and I'm glad I waited.
Many, many happy returns of the day to you, Citizen. Do whatever and only whatever you want!
Thank you for the information. I won't have to plant my tomatoes as high as I thought I would. As soon as this cast is off (Thursday) and I can cobtroll my fingers, I'm going to start some of my herbs, ie, lavender, basil, dill, etc.
I am trying to figure out a redneck way of building one, ought to do so for a few dollars. I will grow my cherry tomatoes in them (4 or 5) and will plant the others the old fashioned way.
Thanks Peach.
Great, just what we need a new OS. Just got used to XP :)
lysie, no ****...just grayness, and damp cold. I need a nap before rehearsal tonite, so my brain won't fry anymore than it naturally will...
You take care with the *tuff, okay??
Well, I was just online at the same time with oldest son, and middle nephew. We shared a few laughs, and I can nap happily. A nice moment courtesy of AlGore.
Just remember pitchers and catchers report soon....very soon.
"Landrieu: We might have been better off if terrorists had blown up the levees"
I don't even know where to begin...
Guess the best bet is to cool off after reading that little gasbag's tripe befpre making any calls to the Senate offices...
A bit of **** flurries this morning on my drive into town. The wind is blowing, so it didn't build up on the road.
BBL.
This bunch over there is mad because we got it going, applied for the loans, funds and did it ourselves....
I recall hearing a news report on the number of grant checks issued by both Mississippi and Louisiana. Seems MS has issued over 10,000+ checks to residents and LA has issued less than 1,000. Makes you kind of wonder where that $30 billion LA received has gone.
And this sad excuse for a public servant wants to whine about the Feds????
Does she even realize she is one of the Feds?????
See everyone later...time to head for the house!
that helps me forget the sounds of Maxine Waters and Jane (I'm an idiot) Fonda at yesterday's "Peace" rally...
