Shoplifters go from petty thieves to terrorists. What would have been a slap on the wrist now may bring a long prison term.

Is that a toy in your pants, or are you just happy to see me?

"It's just hard to believe they did something like this to shoplift something as insignificant as a toy."

Getting weary reading these "freak out" statements from morons. They didn't do it for the toy, they did it so they wouldn't go to jail! Sheeesh!

Authorities said one of the men was seen by a store employee placing a toy inside his pants

What kind of "toy" was this? Inquiring minds want to know. (Is that a toy in your pants, or are you just happy to see me?)

I wonder if this has ever been done before, setting up an explosion as a distraction for shoplifting?

They are toast...All the stores have cameras on the pool chemicals. It is what we called a "mandatory shot". I hope they are charged under the new laws and sent to Gitmo, they could have killed every one in that store.

I knew a feller once a long time ago that spilled a can of brake fluid in his garage and it ran down and got into the chlorine tablets that he had for the kiddie swinmming pool and burned the dang garage up.

Walmart is really getting it lately.

Muscatine Wal-Mart Gets Bomb Threat

One thousand shoppers and 100 employees had to leave the store temporarily.

There are several things that can be mixed with Chlorine to make a bomb or and incendiary device. I won't say what they are because I don't want to be ripped for it, BUT these things can be found on the net easily enough. This does sound like more than a shoplifting incident to me though.

Four men were shoplifting toys in a Wal-Mart? I dunno, something is not right here. Pretty quick thinking with the "small blast" too.
Another poster was kind enough to put up a related Wal-Mart bomb threat news item.

There is an Indian Muslim in federal custody for enrolling in a RI truck driving school, and did not want to learn to back up. Just wanted a hazmat license. This happened only ONE MONTH AGO.

As yet another FReeper said, "Not with a bang, not with a whimper, but with a drip...drip...drip". Time to pay attention now. The election was really their victory, and they think that we are ripe for attack, again.

Ya see!... Ya see!, the ACLU was right, the Patriot act and the WOT agencies were all created just to deny rights to disadvantaged Walmart shop(lift)ers.
