".. what prompted the investigation?" My best guess...a disgruntled ex who can't stand to see her ex-husband happy and the kids doing fine without her. It appears that the mother of the two younger children is pretty useless.

"That was refreshing!" Yes, in a way it was. It's always refreshing with the families I usually deal with to find kids that are even in the right grade at school, let alone those who are doing very well. Still, as much REAL work as there is to do, it really irritates me when people use making child abuse reports to get back at somebody, most often ex-spouses ex-whatevers. Sometimes it's neighbors, sometimes it's a custody battle game and sometimes it's just bickering white trash. Infuriating no matter who's doing it. One thing that often happens when it's a custody battle is that it backfires on the one making the report. They're looking for an ally in court and they end up with just the opposite. I guess that is some small compensation. One of the thing they never even seem to consider is the impact it might have on the kids, but then, they're usually pretty selfish people whose selfishness is at the root of the breakup in the first place, so I guess you can't expect otherwise.

I'm not bad, I'm just in the wrong character alignment section.

Two whole people add together to make a couple.
Two half people multiply each other into quarter people.

'Bout time you showed up. We was starting to think Darks had spirited you off and had you stashed for safekeeping in the dungeon of one of Cardy's remote castles where he could amuse himself with you at his leisure. That didn't come out quite right.

"We've had wunnerful weather all week long." Here too. It's been WONDERFUL. It seems like this has been a longer and harsher wintter than we've had in some time.
