we're going to a bowl simply because we will put butts in the seat. what else do Iowegians have to do around the holidays. and it's raining here! almost January and it's raining in Iowa! we want snow!

That's the same with the Univ of Minnesota.

There are a lot of alumni down in Phoenix-Tempe and they likely will buy seats.

There's no rational reason I can think of as to why we were offered a bowl game.

Winning back Floyd of Rosedale was essentially our bowl game.

I don't expect us to be able to handle Texas Tech's passing attack. Our pass defense is worthless. But if we manage to pull out a victory, Great!

Troy deserves credit for being there but I am really happy for Rice getting to a bowl for the first time in 45 years. I was a toddler when Jess Neely had his last great Rice teams. They'll never be that great again (tiny "brain" school, after all) but it is good to see them have a moment in the sun after so long.

Do we have anykind of game set for the bowls like we did for the regular season? Rice and Troy is not the most exciting matchup, but once we start hitting the big bowls, things get interesting. Let's see the line on the Peach or Cotton...

There is no "official" Bowl Game pick- em league or game that I have seen.
Mike just suggested we post our picks on this thread. The early games aren't that exciting but as the big games come along it will be a lot better.

Well, today's kind of a big day for the Mountain West, since New Mexico has it's best chance to win it's first bowl game since 1961 in the New Mexico Bowl, and My Utah Runnin' Utes play Tulsa in the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl.

To complicate things a bit, Raiders/Chiefs is going on at the same time, so to a bar I shall go to find a joint with both ESPN and NFL Network. Wish me luck.
