I think there are so many unwanted children out there, so many kids in destructive, abusive homes, in foster homes that only want them for the monthly check, I think that ANY family that is proven to be loving and capable of giving children the love and attention that they need and deserve ought to be given the chance.
Many children are fostered/adopted into hetero homes, and are still abused. Heck, thousands of kids are abused and neglected by their birth parents. Being straight is not in and of itself indicative of being a good parent.
There are children out there who at this point will grow up without ever having a home, bouncing around within the system. I say NEVER should we reduce the numbers of willing adopters based on something that has absolutely no bearing on an individual's capacity to love a child.
Amen!
Teeny, I saw these kids first hand. I really did. It was years ago, but it still haunts me. Their "parents" cared about only booze, cigarettes, and dope. Bless you. :)
