Oh No!
George Mitchell is said to be on every short list for everything.
I refuse to take this seriously.
I'm sure the MSM would looove Mitchell. I don't care what they want though and I don't think the President does either.
Lib senator, former Dem majority leader. Texas billionaire is like 86.
Or it could just be that some stupid entrenched government liberal wants to see him in the position and told everyone so. I don't think the President needs a "trial balloon" to know how Republicans would react.
Just because The President has accepted Bolton's resignation gives you no right to post speculation of his replacement for discussion here on FR.
You posted this as a Bush-Bash. Go back to DU!

"Short Lists" have one purpose - to find out who's leaking.
Ted Nugent.
Works for me!
I believe George Mitchell of Texas (aka Mitchell Energy) departed this earth several years ago. That George Mitchell was a great person. I remember him from my days working for Christy, Mitchell and Mitchell in Bridgeport Texas. I was a young high school student working the crow's nest.
Hopefully this rumor is bogus.
And even if it were true, how could Mitchell be more of a liberal, CYA-State-Department-Cocktail circuit, stuffed- suit than RINO Colin Powell was...
From slightly old Ollie North article
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,230099,00.html
"Though Mr. Bolton says he still hopes for "a straight up or down vote on the Senate floor," lame duck Republicans on Capitol Hill have been acting like crippled chickens. When GOP "leaders" failed to rally to Bolton's cause, triumphal Democrats began floating the names of potential replacements. Among those deemed "acceptable" as U.N. emissaries were former Rep. Jim Leach of Iowa and former Democrat Sen. George Mitchell both ardent supporters of the international body's globalist agenda."
"GEORGE MITCHELL: I think there will be, inevitably, some degree of draw down of American forces over the next year. That's inevitable.
The President's policy has clearly failed, the American people have repudiated it. So, for just those two reasons there's going to be a change and I think that's the minimum change that will be required."
1) Appoint a tough, conservative ambassador and attempt to reform the UN.
2) Apppoint an appeasing, sniviling, liberal as ambassador and ignore the UN and its US ambassador.
George Mitchell fits the bill for option 2.
George Mitchel would be an utterly awful pick to follow up on John Bolton but I think I'll believe this when I see it. I don't belive that the WH would cave like this. Bolton's replacement wll pale in comparision to him but Mitchell doesn;t just pale, he fades into nothing!
I'm not going to get upset and argue about something that is not fact
If I wanted to do that .. I'd call my mother inlaw
1) Hillary Rodham Clinton
2) Barack Hussien O'bama
Who is Ron Jeremy?
We won 5 of the last 7 Presidential elections and we won 6 of the last 7 Congressional elections. We are winning much more than losing.
