The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Once in awhile I get a wild hair and want to go on an adventure.

I want to see mountains... :~)

We had to go out to Home Despot for more texture stuff. We were going to go to Barnes and Nobles too but they didn't have power. The whole north side of town was dark, and we had trouble finding a dinner spot - the trusty Chinese joint was open though.

It's put down two inches of snow since dark and we're getting more. At least the wind has died down... probably won't lose power...

I'm thinking of having adventures.

Apparently, according to another thread, I'll be able to do it as a young woman.

So, there's that.

Maybe she doesn't want to say anything, not wanting to call attention to it. She might be hoping you'll decide NOT to grow it back. Or, she may just be trying to get used to your new look. ;o)

We got snow. Now it's 37 and the snow is melting like crazy, so we have slush.

We've got teeny tiny snow. You can barely see it from the living room.

At least it's not enough to interfere with us getting to church shortly. Then for an afternoon of painting! The final coat of primer goes on and then hopefully we can do the ceiling today.

There's an inch or so of slush on the ground, hopefully when the roads are cleared they'll get the ice too. The dogs are sliding around the yard, kicking up slush. They're having a great time.

I should get some seeds started. I keep saying that but I'm trying to limit myself to 6 tomato plants and 6 pepper plants. I have to decide which varieties to plant.

The race is on at 3:00 and the ballgame at 4:30 so I'll be multitasking. :)

Good Morning (still morning for five minutes or so) We went for a walk and yes the wind is wicked. Seems to be mostly from north and west so we got it two directions when we walked.

Boot maintenance is underway; the last trip down south was kinda rough on them and they need some greasing.

Fire trucks just went by, heading south, hope all turns out well.

Mmmm...boot greasing...

Decided to go to the noon service today, so I'm hanging out and being lazy. Had pancakes with homemade jam for breakfast - someone from work made it. Very good!

Drizzly day here - what else is new?

They already had an appartment fire out your way. Things are hopping!

I just refilled the birdfeeder and found some more bulbs coming up around thesunroom...it's not garlic. Maybe one of your lily bulbs I tried to hide from the squirrelz? Guess we'll find out. The leeks and onions I planted last week are starting to sprout and it looks like I'll have a pretty decent daffodil display this spring.

Now. What to fix for lunch....

If they are a really deep green with a rounded 'top', that might be the 'surprise lilies'. They put out greenery in the spring, then die down, and long about August, boom, you've got these beautiful pink lilies on a long stalk. Hope those made it, they are really pretty in the hot days of August!

That sounds like it...I spotted one at least. I kept some in the garage over the winter. Perhaps I should pot them up today.

Wouldn't hurt to get them potted...

In other news, just flipped the mattress.
