Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Us! How are you and your lady Sam?
Octylphenol...my latest headache compound.
So how's the job situation, anyway, Rose?
We are pretty good, thank you.
Last week the doctors took Jeanne off of all medication. That's potentially a great thing, since I've believed all along that all her problems were caused solely by said medication. So, I'm very hopeful that she'll start getting better now.
On another note, I just took my truck through the car wash at the local Mobile station. The guy ahead of me was a middle aged Latin guy, white hair, big mustache, driving a largish Oldsmobile/Buick type of thing. Anyway he could not seem to get it positioned right inside the actual car wash for it to get started. Finally, he made the mistake of getting out of his car, gesticulating comically to the other drivers his outrage at the stupid machine. His gestures were classic, the guy could have been Oliver Hardy. Anyhow, the machinery itself didn't take kindly to the guy's outraged gestures...it didn't actually start itself up while he was walking around making faces and waving his hands at it, but it did take a shot at him. In the middle of his act, the guy walked right past the wheel washing sprayer which promptly gave him the full effect, soaking him beautifully and efficiently from the waist down, with soapy water (at least I don't think it was hot water). That made him get back in the car, and he didn't get out again.
I was doing my best not to burst out laughing.
Funny!
Hope for more good news on Jeanne. Thanks for checkin' in!
Just guessing here, but, it's giving you a headache, not for your headache, right?
Sure, the "Hole" is one of my favorite clubs I belong to :-)
I really agree with you on this statement, Sam!! Side effects from medications can just be absolutely devestating, but, if outside the realm of 'noted' side effects, are, oft times, ignored by people who should know better.
I used to lay out the flyers on Friday evening and scope out my plan of attack for Saturday. Been lax on that lately. I should be better about stocking up during sales instead of just randomly grabbing stuff...
I love grocery shopping. Strange, I suppose, but I do.
We found a page on the internet where people wrote about symptoms they manifested after prolonged exposure to Coumadin. Most of Jeanne's symptoms were listed right there on that page, even though most of them are not on the list provided by the druggist.
But my main reason for thinking the drugs could have been the real problem is that her symptoms started shortly after initial administration. She never had them before. Not a coincidence IMO.
Anyhow, now we've taken a step, if it works, fine, if not, at least we know we have to look elsewhere.
Agreed.
Yeah, so far it's giving me a headache.
But it's Friday and someone else needs the instrument this afternoon so it won't be a headache againg until Monday morning.
Ummm...."again."
Izzit 4:30 yet?
Thank you Rose. We are well south of that weather, though it is predicted to get here on Monday, probably with much less ferocity I hope. Not that weather service predictions are necessarily grounded in reality. But we can certainly "feel" it going on up there, scudding low clouds moving all day yesterday from the south, today from the southwest.
I believe it's right on top of ksen today, but a quick look at the radar shows it to be not so vicious as yesterday.
Finding the web site with others' experiences using that medication was a stroke of luck. Wishing Jeanne the best of luck in finding a medication that works!
I was going to ask if it affected your spelling, too :)
I'm contracting now, getting leads off CraigsList and concentrating on short-term assignments. The time is coming for me to make it into a business ... question is, do I make it part of our existing business, or make it a separate, independent concern?
These contracts are fun. I did one back in December where I had to write a C# "proof-of-concept" app that took streaming input from a webcam and displayed that in the same window as a playback of recorded video.
This newest contract was for a quickie revamp of a ecommerce website, changing it from shopping cart to strictly informational. And when I say quickie, I mean I started working on it last Friday, with a drop-dead finish date of Monday morning. It was VB, ASP, and HTML,and it's caused me to pull more than one all-nighter this last week.
I like the variety, but it would also be kinda nice to have a semi-permanent gig. This last company mentioned additional work on another of their websites ... we'll see what they say after I give them this week's invoice ...!
