Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Yes, I know "Fur Elise" well from my piano lesson days.
Schweet!
I love "Fur Elise". It's a very haunting tune.
I'd never really listened to it before, though the tune is familiar. I find it beautiful.
I read that Beethoven directed it toward another female whom he admired (Therise?). Anyhow, she doesn't seem to have been impressed, wouldn't marry him or anything.
Meant to ping you to that last post. Hadn't known you played piano, though I think I'm aware that you can sing. I verge on tone deafness. Jeanne is even worse.
Combine 6 egg yolks with a 15 ouce can of sweetened condensed milk, mixing well. Then add a little less than 1/2 cup of key lime juice (or any kind of lime juice), blending well.
Pour this into a pie crust, graham cracker or regular, chill well, or even freeze. Serve with whipped cream on top.
That's pretty traditional I think. If you put too much lime juice it won't set up, we've found.
It was really cool seeing the actual "A" School Instructors and Rescue Swimmers in the movie, and seeing them interviewed in the Bonus Features. Them's some brave folks!
Yeah, that one is like riding a bicycle.... except for that middle part.

If you scored... 1950 - 1959: You're fun loving, romantic, and more than a little innocent. See you at the drive in! 1960 - 1969: You are a free spirit with a huge heart. Love, peace, and happiness rule - oh, and drugs too. 1970 - 1979: Bold and brash, you take life by the horns. Whether you're partying or protesting, you give it your all! 1980 - 1989: Wild, over the top, and just a little bit cheesy. You're colorful at night - and successful during the day. 1990 - 1999: With you anything goes! You're grunge one day, ghetto fabulous the next. It's all good! |
Another piano lesson survivor who could still mostly play Fur Elise... probably. It was slow enough that I didn't mangle it too badly.

It gave me 1965 as well, which is off by nearly 20 years too recent. Not too many of the questions were appropriate, though.

It wasn't such a bad time for me, except for the 1967 Detroit riots (my dad kept his shotgun in a corner of the living room). The family car was a 1967 Chevy with a 427 (nothing too hot), mine was a 1960 Dodge Dart with a Slant-Six (definitely uncool, but my aunt gave it to me). I hadn't discovered classical music yet, because all I had was an AM radio in the car. And I wouldn't have to worry about the draft for another two years.
There's fuzzy line between brave and crazy. :-)

Mornin' folkses...
I got 1964 as well. Although none of those category descriptions really fit.

Thanks! May have to try it sometime...
That's the one I'm looking for! Thank you kindly, sir!
I can "low carb" it for Steve by putting in SF jello and cool whip. Then the only carb ingredient would be the lime juice at 5 carbs for 1/3 cup.
I got 1955.
:-)
Good morning, HH.
