The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Posted on 12/01/2006 12:55:15 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Yeah, and why is it so hard to just say "Excuse me, Mr. President, but perhaps you would be interested to know that your chief of staff is trying to blackmail me into resigning."

The other problem we talked about during the breaks is they've killed off all the characters we care about except Jack and Chloe. I have absolutely failed to bond with the new people at CTU, Buchanan is vanilla, and there is apparently no one in the president's administration that is remotely likable!

I'm hoping that she's resigning to free herself to find something to NAIL that guy! With the help of CTU, of course.

Well... there's always the chance to see that some really unlikeable characters are killed in painful and perhaps entertaining or at least unique ways.

The President's sister is one of those. She's just gotta go. Maybe she'll be choked by a shredded Koran. There's always hope.

Then we can move on to that weasel in the Presidential staff. whatshisname. Dont' care. GOD knows, we ALL know he's going to die. I hope Jack is the one to do it. Maybe with just a regular table fork. It could take up most of the hour and still be OK.

:-)

Heck, all Jack really needs is his teeth.

Well, if she's flying to L.A. she's going to disappear for about four episodes. Primes her for a big scenario later in the season.

True... I'm just working for the time angle. It needs to be slow. And photogenic. Needs to play well in Hi-Def.

You know, this series is teaching me some really disturbing things about myself. :-)

Tom Petty? Hmm... I'll pay better attention next time...

I'm a dingbat. I thought we were still talking about about The Postman. LOL. Tom Petty was in *that*. I haven't seen The Guardian and never will. I have series psychological hang-ups about water movies where people might/do drown. Still haven't seen Titanic or Perfect Storm. Never will. I'm weird that way, but what can I say, I'm a desert rat.

I keep having Ally McBeal moments every time McNicol is in a scene. He is, and always will be, THE BISCUIT!

If you don't know him, well you might like him. Stories were real space men board enemy ships wearing laser proof armor and using AXES! Where when evil alien races attack we don't try to understand them, we obliterate their homeworld.

That was an odd thread hijack...

Still, I vaguely sympathize with her. Mostly because there are certain topics I don't bother to read because I know they're going to end up with nothing but pictures of tennis stars or something. I used to like Ann Coulter, though I don't any more, but I could just never read threads here because there was never any intelligent discussion, just... drooling. It's kind of off-putting, for me.

Heck, all Jack really needs is his teeth.

Never underestimate the importance of good dental hygeine.

That said...

Tom (White House COS) must die, and painfully. Anybody want to bet we see Mike Novick coming in to save the day?

And, where's Aaron?

Wife commented that Papa Bauer is awfully tall to have such short sons.

President's sister will stay. She's this seasons "Sherry." Although Wayne Palmer is no David Palmer...yet at least.

And finally, how many more hours before Audrey and/or Kim show up to annoy us?

Like the mushy Aragorn/Arwen love scenes, if this were a marathon watching, last night would have been the time to go to the bathroom.

And, where's Aaron?

That's what I've been saying right along. Now that they've killed off Curtis, he's about the only person left we care about - besides Jack and Chloe, of course. So where is he?

I wouldn't call the president's sister a Sherry type. Sherry was far less annoying. She was unapologetically evil and self-centered, rather than a loud-mouthed, pushy, self-righteous b****.

I'm just sayin'.

Yeah, I know, but since we haven't met the First Lady, and don't even know if there is one, Sister is just filling that slot. Not exactly like Sherry, but still the woman who causes the President major grief.
