I've disagreed with you a lot but you served our Country in times of great distress with profound and heroic dedication. History will pay you grudging respect.

Rush said today that Bush threw Rumsfeld under the bus and is already pandering to Pelosi and the House Dems. And - that he was tired of "carrying water" for phony Republicans who are NOT conservatives but are more interested in getting good reviews from the drive-by media. I think he's got a point.
I am so very sorry that he felt or was forced to resign, which ever the case. I think this is a great loss to the country as well as the military. He is not a scapegoat, as the nation who voted for democrats yesterday are not told the truth about the war by the left. They are the liars and the robbers of our security. Thank you Rumsfeld, you will be missed.

A truly great and brilliant man, possibly the only real hope for both military transformation and winning the war, has answered honor's call and voluntarily stepped aside rather than allow the left to use him as a weapon to defame the President.

You said it well. America was blessed to have Rumsfeld as Secretary of Defense for as long as we did. He will be sorely missed--especially his wonderful sense of humor and his ease at press conferences.
This was not an overnight decision, folks. He gave all and for that we are eternally grateful, Mr. Secretary. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I'm going to miss that smile!
There are plenty of posts and websites trashing Rumsfeld, this thread seems to be for THANK YOU's! In this hour of horror caused by yesterday's elections, I wish we would all stay positive about a great man and great leader.
