Art Bell caught this one. He read the article on the air on the Saturday night Coast to Coast.
Just some swamp gas.
I heard an in depth radio interview with the gentleman from MUFON.{Mutual UFO Network} He in fact was in Tappen, ND for a funeral. He lives in Long Prairie , MN, and is a retired high school science teacher. The Tappen family knew that the MUFON fellow was interested in UFO stuff, and told him the story and showed him some evidence, such as indentations in the soil where a UFO had landed. These people are not whacko's. The MUFON rep is very detail oriented and scientific in his approach to the situation. They are simply piecing together a fascinating puzzle, and making records to record , account and analze the data. I realize that the 8 or 9 foot tall sow stealing creatures make for a unbelievable tale, but the family telling the story does not need to be criticised. This story has been the talk of office, home and school for our family , here in Fargo , ND. These type of things are simply a mystery, and there is no need to chastise the people affected. A number of other people open up and relate ufo stories from their lives during times like these. I have seen the same ufo on two seperate occasions. At the time the US government had a division of the Air Force called Project Blue Book which investigated UFO sightings. I submitted a report and received a return letter simply stating that there was no government activity in the area during the time I witnessed the ufos, and there was insufficient information to draw any conclusions or to investigate further. I was with 4 other people when we saw the ufo the first time, and with one other person when we saw the same ufo rising up out of a field and accelerating away at an incredible, almost instantaneous rate of speed during the second observation. I have no idea what the heck it was, it is simply a mystery at this time.
Thanks.
Great to see a reasonable reply.
Dave, My computer is down again and I can't access my UFO PING LIST. Feel free, if you care to.
Quix, I am new to blogging. What is a ping list? Thanks, timfromfargo
Thanks for your kind question.
Strictly speaking, FR is NOT a blog.
A blog is a net web--page, at least--often at a site with a lot of individual web pages--which are narrative text about anything that the blogger cares to put on the pages sequentially, much as a diary. Blogs tend to be more . . . verbose than a lot of diary entries, however, imho.
FREREPUBLIC.COM
Is a conservative website where articles are posted and responded to. That sequence of articles and responsive posts constitute a dialogue about the article and thoughts and issues triggered thereby.
Individuals posting on the thread--FREEPERS HERE--are called also, posters to that thread. Their individual contributions are called posts.
On FREEREPUBLIC.COM and other sites . . . different individuals maintain ping lists. A ping list is a list of forum screennames of those who've asked to be on a given ping list because they are interested in a particular topic.
I maintain (with help on the UFO list) a UFO ping list and an END TIMES/PROPHECY/DREAMS/VISIONS PING LIST.
When a thread is brought to the attention of the ping list holders that they think is worthy and of interest to their list of members, they post a PING to the ping list to alert the list members that such a thread is available and awaiting their reading and responses.
If you have any questions I can answer about the above, please ask me.
Welcome.
Blessings,
Quix
Wow, thanks so much for your in depth answer to my ping question. I had not really understood what type of a site I was posting on , having simply keyed in words to bring up random discussions regarding this ufo siting in ND. I will have to look into FREEREPUBLIC a bit more, as a am a conservative myself. Thanks again Quix, God Bless
Certainly.
You are most welcome.
FR is also a great place to get news. We have 200,000+ members all over the world. We usually get major stories posted on FR 20 minutes to 2 or more HOURS before the likes of CNN, NBC C-BS, ABC, etc. Sometimes that ealier info can be lifesaving.
Anyway--it's a fantastic place to dialogue with like minded folks.
The religion forum can often be the least likely place to find kosher dialogue but some of us there really love God and each other. Welcome.
It's wise to be very careful about posting articles. Search first and try and find out if they have been posted before.
Check out the posting guidelines, if you haven't already.
The mods really do try and limit things to avoiding wholesale personal insult. Some folks seem to get away with more of it than others but mostly the mods do a hurclean job as volunteers.
The give and take can be quite fierce and many folks do not suffer fools at all, much less gladly.
Anyway--FWIW.
Blessings,
LOL! Those are real scary aliens. ;o)
*OPI pings.
(*=Of Possible Interest)
These type of things are simply a mystery, and there is no need to chastise the people affected.Well put. And I agree wholeheartedly. But I also laughed my butt off a couple of times reading the thread. And I've had a sighting of a disk. :')
A cause of death wasnt the only thing missing.
Someone, Briese said, removed a single testicle from the animal.
Most likely a ram...
Welcome to FreeRepublic!
There is that possibility that somewhere on this farm is burried a Pregnant Hog with a 22 cal bullet wound.
I have seen two UFOs on two different occasions - and like a gazillion others I suppose we just tell ourselves it was swamp gas, lack of a properly fitting tin foil hat or any array of excuses in order to keep from being admitted in the Rubber Room Resort and Spa.
...and I have grown up around aircraft all my life. No chance whatsoever about mistaking what I saw.
All that to say, reading articles like this reminds me we are not all that bonkers.
It's easy to discount sightings like this - but when it's you in some cornfield at the buttcrack of dawn in a deer stand or floating around in the ocean at night fishing ... well, it changes you.
Thanks for posting.
Ufo Sightings? Is it 1997 alrady?
That thought crossed my mind, too.
