(CBS) The three Duke lacrosse players indicted for a rape they say they didn't commit are indignant over the effect the charges are having on their lives and their families.
In their first interviews, they speak to Ed Bradley this Sunday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

You may very well be right. I just think that Nifong is about to experience intense pressure to drop this from local powers that normally would not be involved in a criminal case. I'm basing this om my experience with small town southern politics and not on any specific facts.
Do you realize how much it is going to cost to go on trial?
Are you proposing to pay for it too?
I am sure trial would be very entertaining for us, but how much pressure on the defendants? No lawyer will take client to trial if that trial can be avoided.
You and I went around about this last night and I thought I made it perfectly clear that I'm not interested in your ciruclar logic.
Nor your snotty remarks.
I'm in.
Us too.
Well, that's too bad. Cause I will say it whether you are interested or not. Got it?
Wonder how this is being discussed in the Trinity Park neighborhood?
I would love to be a fly on some of the walls.
It is absolutely necessary NOW that they be vindicated in the courtroom and that Nifong and "Precious" be destroyed for all the world to see. Deal w/it.
And frankly, i couldn't care less what it is you are interested in.
A good lawyer will never take client to trial if the trial can be avoided. If you can't comprehend this simple fact, it's your problem, not mine.

10/15/06 at 20:55 60 Minutes just gave the N&O permission to tell what they know. Too bad, the N&O could have scooped 60 minutes by 6 months.

10/15/06 at 20:57 Hoping Melanie got a glimpse at 60 minutes and was able to see how deplorable the N&O coverage has been. How much of this story have you missed? How much of this story have you framed? Did you know Precious was dancing two weeks after the "incident?" Did you know Kim refutes Precious' police statement? What did precious say about Kim during your initial interview? Do you think it might matter now -- even though you have already dug your hole? While DNA is exhonerating people in prison -- you have made no effort to get to the truth of this situation. Your actions are as much a part of how this community got to where we are today in this Hoax as DA Nifong.
Necessary to whom?
You?
Because you want to see a trial, they must go through it?
Give me a break.
Well they just lost whatever leverage they had to get the parties stopped.
What people forget is that Durham has been like this for YEARS; granted, he is the worst of the lot, but it's a town/gown situation.
The "tell" will come after the election; if he dismisses the case, which I don't think he will, he will be removed from office by the town people because he will be admitting he's been blowing smoke up their butts since March.
I think he's too wrapped up in it to dismiss the case, even if she says she won't testify; he'll simply say she's afraid of the big bad white boys and subpoena her, trying to make it look like she's a reluctant witness, insinuating she's only testifying to get the truth out there.
He's way too invested in this to let go now. And he's in a lose/lose situation: he will either be removed from office, if he wins, or they will wipe the floor with him in court. He's going for the gold, IMO, because he has mistaken the lust for payback in the black community for actual support for himself.
You're just proving my point.
Oh, me, too!!!!
I was wondering about them tonight. I wish we had access to their little "community" emails..........ROFLMAO.
Oh, my..........that's such fun to see and read, isn't it?
I think they want the students out of the neighborhood. I also think Duke wants them on campus paying for dorms, esp their new "Green" dorm. Since the campus went "dead" with drinking enforcement I bet dorms and eateries lost alot of income. We could at first buy beer "on points" or often just appear at any random bench with a keg, wander into the CI, Rat, DU, Oak Room, Uncle Terry's, etc. for a party. No more. Everyone is gone and most of them are at a party in Trinity Park. Durham wants em gone and Duke wants em back.
I also wonder what is being discussed on that campus tonight.
Do you suppose there will be candlelight marches for the players?
