And some of them get wrongly convicted. I think it's a complete nonsense to say they have to go to trial to prove their innocence. Nonsense. They need to get on with their lives. They can prove their innocence through civil suits, writing books, giving interviews, instead of spending thousands of dollars on a trial. Hell, if you want to prove your innocence, maybe you can visit Durham and ask them to charge you with something, then go on trial and prove your innocence? Nifong probably will oblige.
If trial can be avoided, it needs to be avoided.
