[Soaring Feather]

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

The hot dry air makes the difference for me. Most of the time around here it is very humid, August was dreadful, low temps, with high humidity made for cold, clammy air. I would not dare to think of painting anything.


Yes, you are on the mark with our troops lugging all their gear in that heat, I don't know how they do it.

I'd guess even they think the same until they are in the sandbox and have to do it.

We have some humidity here in CA, but nothing like on the East Coast. Oregon and Washington are worse for humidity.

Fatherhood is the Toughest Love

Far away the fire burns and the flames of war make the heads of angels turn and bow,
softly, sadly, weeping at the needless waste of a cruel madman and his tribe.
One you know, and love, walks there now, and does his duty as he knows how,
pride and honor mark his path, learned from you, as you did prescribe.

You worry, and it marks your brow, and leaves lines he’ll see someday and then he’ll know,
the depth of your feelings, and the reach of your love, and the burden of loving as father to son.
From you he will take the tools to build up his life, and pass them on to the next sweet young life,
