My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Its getting to difficult time of the year, let us keep the spirit of Christmas before us. Make this a Christmas for others, it will a gift you share.

The Season of Testing Yourself

She was just another little girl selling matches on the street,
as the snows whirled about in the wind so bitter and cold.
she had to sell to eat this night, or pay for some warm fold,
yet no one wanted to stop for her, and she dreamed of heat.

Her small fingers ached with the wind chilling pain,
as she tried to interest the passersby in her matches.
But they had no time in their hurry, gifts to snatch,
and they passed her by in their annual greediest again.

On the corners she heard the carolers sing the pretty songs,
as the shoppers shoved her aside in their hurry today.
She was dressed in rags and yet they saw her not all day,
struggling to make it just one more day, oh how so wrong.

Her small, voice an irritant this season to those on the street,
passing her by as she struggled in the cold they could ignore.
As night passed, they all disappeared behind warm doors,
and she was on the street, looking in windows in the sleet.

Oh what beautiful trees were there inside, and smiles in the light,
and she hungered for more then food as she watched folks inside.
What fun they were having, food piled high, and she quietly cried,
as she walked into the darkening night, only too aware of her plight.

In an alley she found a small cardboard box and crawled inside,
wrapping her small ragged coat tighter around her little form.
She wept in the bitter cold, wanting only to be a little warm,
her tears freezing on her face as she shook, trying only to hide.

One by one she lit her matches to try and keep an illusion of warm,
each small light brought a tiny smile to her dirty little face.
But the cold is a cruel neighbor, and she was losing the last race,
even as the last match burned down to a memory in the storm.

She lay there afraid of the night and she prayed a small prayer,
feeling the cold emptiness around her in this terrible night.
Then she heard something, and she look at a glowing light,
a figure approached her in the alley with a soft smile so fair.

She felt herself picked up and carried in arms so warm and nice,
and she closed her eyes and let the peace fill her like a feast.
She looked up into a face so sweet, and she felt not the least,
He said she was going home, someplace called paradise.

Inside the many homes along the many streets there is cheer,
and warmth and food to share, and gifts, each with a name.
The holiday is to celebrate the birth of a tiny one of great fame,
who also knew the least of mankind this night then and now here.

Do we see the ones, who seek just another day of their lives,
and do we hold that spirit of this time in our hearts or checkbooks?
Do we see the ones we might otherwise somehow overlook,
and is Christmas in our hearts, or just on our lips as they strive?

Look around you and see the tinseled tree so bright alight,
the fireplace crackling, and the friends gathered, and more.
Is there room for just one more, there inside your warm door,
remember that manger so bare, and ask yourself what’s right.

The Season of Testing Yourself

Very heart wrenching poem.

Thank God's graciousness, I have always had enough, even when I thought I did not.

Lovely scenery. We do have a chilly wind today, but no rain, the sun in playing hide and seek.

It is a stunningly beautiful fall day today. The leaf colors are brilliant and the sky is an obviously photoshopped brilliant blue.

Thank You. I have some Winter pictures taken when I first moved into the manse. It was a horribly hard winter.

I'll post those in the Winter months. ;)
