For your bookmarking assistance, this is a reference list of links to the Aug 2006 or newer Free Republic threads on the topic of the JonBenet Ramsey murder case and the possible arrest of John Mark Karr as a suspect in her murder.
That DNA "X" was publicly identified in 2004, I believe. I was already "outta there" as far as JBR and my time was taken up on several other cases I wanted to study, so I don't know much about it - just whatever y'all reading now.
I am with you on all that being a possibility...but I was worried about the existing DNA from the crime. There have been multiple sources in the days since Karr's arrest hit the airwaves about the DNA possibly NOT being enough and/or having been somehow compromised. That's my only worry.
I will go back and check but I could swear that one of those last two articles you posted even said something about there NOT being lots of samples to use for further testing...
the "compromised" comments I heard - only referred to the fingernail DNA. the sample on the underwear is not compromised, but was reported as being incomplete, but that may be changing now too.
Thank you... all the catching up they (LE) have to do makes since to me. I wondering if Karr sent something to Patsy (well LE) and if that something had proof needed in it?
If Karr is the one... then Patsy dying may have played a huge role in this. Karr just didn't think he would be caught but his desire to communicate with Patsy before she passed on is what gave him up to LE.
Now I just listen to one lawyer on MSNBC (he's a popular Jewish lawyer who worked on the OJ case) said a DNA match from her panties may not be needed because he said there is some question as to if that DNA was already in her panties. (most likely the Lee theory that DNA may come from someone who sneezed on the panties when they were being sewn together at a sewing machine in the factory and the panties were brand new out of package when she or someone put on her.)
A lot of the people commenting on the DNA in the media recently aren't aware of that latest development, so it has been confusing.
Right - my crab shell theory, too. We'll see. My prognosticator is broken right now, but it stuck on "no match" earlier, which would just leave some people backpedaling on saying the DNA belongs to the killer.
Same here
Gotcha. And I did know that they had supposedly used the newer technology to get a more complete profile from the foregin DNA that was, I believe, mixed with the tiny blood stains. I am trying to find the article, though, that implied (IMO) that there wasn't an endless supply to be tested again and again...
It sure does. I heard this police officer a while back talking about this. She had NO evidence....just a "feeling".
henry lee doesn't seem to know this either.
whoever said that they have plenty DNA was someone big who worked the case back then... it was Lead Prosecutor or Lead DA or someone like that. That article was posted in the last 2 days on the thread.
My guess is that with new technology that they don't need very much anymore to get a full read on it and that is why this person said they had plenty of the DNA for testing.
BTW - I was reading some postings on another forum today and someone reposted some discussions from YEARS ago that I think you were a part of. You have really done a lot of work here. I confess that I had NO idea that there was this level of in-depth investigation going on by folks all over the world just trying to get to the truth. It almost defies logic that we still have no answers after all this time.
Hopefully, one day the truth will win out.
"...comparing it to the minute samples of DNA taken from the scene could leave the defense without its own samples."
leading me to think there wasn't much to go around
...that's from the second article you posted on the last page of this thread. I'd post the # but I have so many windows open I am losing my mind. :)
Anyone watch the MSNBC "Who Killed JonBenet?" bit that was posted about upthread? Anything new in that one?
I doubt it. I never see one time on any of these shows - them put up a side by side picture of the ransom note, with Patsy's exemplar. how many times have we seen them do that in the past week, with Karr's yearbook handwriting? dozens.
