For your bookmarking assistance, this is a reference list of links to the Aug 2006 or newer Free Republic threads on the topic of the JonBenet Ramsey murder case and the possible arrest of John Mark Karr as a suspect in her murder.
I agree with you. It's somewhat interesting, but quite a reach to say the quotes came from the various movies.
Ha, I once found a charter for the "State Building Trades Council" that starts out "we are a group of individuals ..."
Oh, I forgot - the S.B.T.C. charter goes "we are a group of individuals that represent ..."
Left off the last part.
WHich state.....If it's GA or AL you may have something. Both Karr and his father did some building.
No kidding? LOL!
I need to get out of here. G'Night everybody.
Movies are pretty much the closest most of us ever come to hearing or knowing what real criminals would say in a kidnapping situation.
If we were to try to come up with "gangster" (not gangsta) type language, we'd probably come up with very similar terms.
Night, onyx.
attache case - Westley Allan Dodd. He was a child molester and murder who killed three boys in 1989. He kept an attache case underneath his bed containing underwear, photos of the victims, and detailed journals of his fantasies and crimes. This discovery of this trophy case was instrumental in convicting him.
I was wondering about the mentioning of the attache case. I am only looking at cases before JonBenet's murder that involve the murdering of a child by someone who is not a family member, and the victim was not subjected to chronic physical abuse. I have also ruled out deaths by shooting.
This was also a highly publicized case. This guy was snatching kids from the park.
I knew you'd say that! It was Illinois.
Kidnapping movies released in theaters before 12/25/96
Nick of Time (1995)
US Theatrical Release Date: November 22, 1995
Plot Synopsis: Gene Watson arrives home in Los Angeles, after attending his ex-wife's funeral, with his daughter. Soon, his daughter is kidnapped. He is given a gun, and the picture and itinerary of a person, and told that if he hasn't killed that person in one hour and fifteen minutes, his daughter will be killed. We then follow him through that time.
Fargo (1996)
US Theatrical Release Date: March 8, 1996
Plot Synopsis: Jerry Lundegaard is in a financial jam and, out of desperation, comes up with a plan to hire someone to kidnap his wife and demand ransom from her wealthy father, to be secretly split between Jerry and the perpetrators. Jerry, who is not the most astute of individuals, hires a couple of real losers from the frozen northern reaches of Fargo, North Dakota for the job. Then things begin to slip from bad to worse as Jerry helplessly watches on.
I will "try" to compile a list of these over the next week.
Probably SHI-caw -guuh? (in my best region accent)
Whooo-weee. "We've completely finished bricking up the part of the basement where a well known murder of a little 6-yo girl took place."
LOL...
I found an easier way to do this:
Child Kidnapping movies (numbers 1 through 25 were after 1996 that is why I did not include them - some of these movies were about real life child kidnappings)
if you go to this link - you can click on each title that is listed below for more info on that movie.

I say this.....IF the parents of the first wife of John-boy can come up with an authentic letter or card from him that has the "sbtc" on it, then I say that Johnny-boy is good for it......
I don't care about the lack of dna, the not perfect match of handwriting, the squirrley relatives trying to recreat the past, or just the insaneness of it all........John-boy could actually be the murderer, folks.....
don't think so.....hubby and I went from Spokane, wa to LA starting at 3:30 pm and getting there at 2 the next day...driving straight and it was winter.....appox 1400 miles....
it could have been done......but more likely, he drove to a big airport....Atlanta or even Nashville or Memphis....and caught a direct flight.....
its all possible.....all of it.....
I am leaning strongly that way too......if only because the whole story is just so bizarre that no one could have thought it up....
but, even if we can't prove he did this crime....my sense is that he is an evil man and has hurt many little children , if not killed them, in the past....IMO of course
Thanks!
It will be later in the day before I post something about any possible connections.
