An arrest in the JonBenet Ramsey case is due to happen "shortly," according to sources in our newsroom -- I know I can't post the link to our site (we're a Gannett station, and despite the "ban", I would welcome the traffic), but most of you know where I work and what the site is...
According to our sister station in Denver, an arrest took place early this morning in Thailand.
Stand by for details and updates as they come in.
What did the people of Atlanta do to Patsy Ramsey?
Update from Fox....Karr has been emailing Patsy ("crazy" emails) for a few years, discussing horrible aspects of the case and Jon Benet's abuse. He has confessed.
He sounds like a nutcase. John Ramsey is still on the hot seat, as far as I'm concerned.
I *have* been around long enough on FR to wait for some information to roll in before declaring that the first story is the right story. I'm also not the type of person to allow myself to be influenced by the last person I've spoken with.
We'll see what happens.
If this is true, the death penalty is mandatory. What an evil person!
Kool aid time.
It's the collagen.
Ummm, where did I blame the victim? Little 6 year old JonBenet was certainly not entering herSELF in these pageants, buying herSELF $10,000 dresses, and buying herSELF plane tickets to fly around the country flaunting herSELF in front of thousands of strangers. Her parents (probably mainly her mother) were responsible for all this, and risked her safety by doing it. Quite likely, this imprudent activity led to the poor child's death. For all I know, the parents tortured themselves with remorse for all this stuff afterwards, but other parents would do well to learn the lesson by acknowledging the cause-and-effect pattern.
strangely, according to the Huff blog from sometime ago, Duncan the killer of the Groene family had some connection to the dad's company or did business with that company
That was Denholm Elliot.
To those now stuffing mega-crow in the oven and waxing self-righteous about those of us who jumped to conclusions, could I make one small plea for leniency on the part of my fellow members of the lynch mob?
When police conduct a murder investigation, they do not do so by focusing in on particular individuals. Rather, at the outset, everyone is "in" so to speak, and the police work to eliminate possible suspects. The Ramseys could never be eliminated and hence remained in the frame. This, combined with their unusual behavior and that most strange ransom note resulted in many of us putting 2+2 together and getting 5.
If the daughter of John and Jane Citizen is found dead in their basement with no sign of forced entry, then they'd better have a darned good alibi. The Ramsey's didn't and for me, this was the straw which broke the camel's back.
I'll now wait with baited breath to see what exactly is this guy's connection to the family, why he wrote that stupid note and how he so successfully entered and exited on a snowy night with nary a trace.
Curious and curiouser.
just guessing
If he's been emailing details for years, what has taken so long to nab him!
THANKS. They might be two separate pedophiles who know each other. Implicate each other
CNN did say his name was John Mark Carr.
OMG...emailing Patsy????.....OMG......
Guess I misused the word "feelings", when I actually meant to say that I sized up Patsy's actions by her handwriting being so similar to the person who wrote that note.
Anyway, the "real Killer", John Karr, sounds like your garden-variety nutcase, nothing more.
I keep reading about her nose and I agree completely. It's odd. My first thought, however, and it's nasty, is that she spent too much time sniffing aroung Bubba. If you get my drift. She was part of his impeachment defense. Nuff said.
Is it difficult e-mailing Pasty Ramsey?
