The Hobbit Hole XXX - Then world behind and home ahead...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 06/28/2006 10:14:11 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Then world behind and home ahead

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Haven't quite decided if I'm going to take Monday off. Tuesday is the Fed. holiday. A project leader gave me an impossible deadline and then she proceeded to take a three week vacation... so it's not like she'll notice if I'm not there on Monday. heh.

I sent in my "taking off Monday" email today. Since I got no complaints I'm assuming they don't care.

Of course if they did tell me to come in I would just call in sick Monday. Visits from my sweetheart don't come very often and four day visits! Almost never.

I picked up some 5.7x28 ammo for my PS90! It's on the far right, next to (from left to right) 7.62mm, 5.56mm, .45ACP, 9mm,.22 Hornet, .22 LR (the rare FMJ round used in suppressed military weapons to comply with The Hague Convention), and the FN 5.7x28. Cute little bugger, ain't it?

I believe the energy is slight more than the 45 Auto, and it also works in the FN FiveseveN handgun.

This is how it looks in the weird P90 magazine. Each round is turned 90 degrees in two steps to get it pointing down the bore for loading.

I'm hoping to fire of 50 (one mag's worth, $22) this weekend.

Good evening, folkses. Been a bit of a crazy day and tomorrow will be crazier. We're moving about thirty computers to a different building, plus servers 'n that. Fun. Especially since not all printers, for example, will be in the same proximity to the same 'puters as they were before, so we have all that to set up, plus the inevitable ports that won't work and things that get lost and...all that.

But I'm rather looking forward to it. Sick.

$22.00 for one mag full? (hmmm) I presume it's reloadable? (hmmm) however life's too short to shoot cheap ammo.
(did I really say that? )- as I scrape the verdigris off .22LR shells I got a good deal on them.

Kudos, we hope for a range report in the not too distant future.

we heard about the 'hot wire' testing. :-)

If you start getting too many squirrels, you can hang it across the clearing and use the .17 HMR.
