Sorry about your plants 2J, the other ones look awesome.
I can't really see where the split is, but cut the da## thing out. We had trouble with all this when we were stationed in N. Carolina. I remember it seemed like fighting a loosing battle.

Yeah....our squash always went kaput around this time of year. But usually, we were so tired of squash, we didn't mind. We had to switch the carbaryl attack to the corn borers.
Please keep him and Didi, and their four grown sons in your prayers. Please keep the rest of us in your prayers too. He was the oldest of the siblings, and is the first of us to go, so it's tough.
Oh Suzi...I'm going to lift you and your family up to our Father right now...
I'm so sorry! My heart is breaking for you...
I saw the most unusual thing a little while ago...I saw a hugh hugh airliner...big massive thing...fly fairly low over our house. Not right over our house, like the Black Hawks do, but the route planes normally take. But just fairly low...not way up like Southwest Airlines or something. Moving real real slow.
It had a great big massive disk on the back of it! I started hollering and Joshua ran out to see it too. Then Steve got home and he said he'd even seen it as he was coming home!
It was an awesome sight.
Plus a whole bunch of F16s (or maybe a few over and over) have been flying over all day, since early this morning. No BHs though...not yet anyway. Wouldn't surprise me, what with all the activity.
Wonder if it has something to do with the Fourth?
I'm sorry Suzi. You and your family are in our prayers.
SuziQ - I am terribly sorry about your brother, and offer prayers of comfort for you and your family, and his immediate family as well.
They're a fairly uncommon sight at airshows... but maybe.
Ohmuhgosh!! That's it exactly!!
I see it's built by Boeing...we have a Boeing here....
I love Oklahoma! I'll swan, I never saw the likes of the sky any where else! It never dawned on me how much I watched the skies until 9/11 and the skies were so empty. Now I look up constantly...fully anticipating something fascinating and a lot of times I'm not disappointed!
There's frequently one of those sitting at Boeing field, either in for maintenance or a new one going out. You can't mistake them for anything else :~)
Prayers up for your family.
Speaking of air shows...Tulsa Air Show is this month. I would dearly love to attend it!
Can't find anything online about it though, other than the date.
Okay....I think it's squirrels that are chewing up my tomato vines. Some inside the bunny fence are gnawed and the little joker went on a rampage today.
Anybody know how to build a decent-looking cage around a raised bed?
Very sorry to hear that, SuziQ... we'll be keeping your family in our prayers.
You know, I just wadded up some deer netting around my cukes when they were little and nothing messed with them. Apparently the critters didn't like walking on the netting...they'd get tangled up.
Now that won't keep birds off. You could drape the netting over the plants and then weight it down with bricks round the bottom. Problem with that is the maters tend to grow up through the netting and it messes up the plants when you try to pull it off.
We build an entire enclosure around our maters a couple years ago...remember that? With PVC pipes and bird netting. That way the netting was kept off the plants.
It was a hassle, but it worked great and I still have tomato sauce from that year!
Our current tomatoes are not covered at all, except for the patio tomatoes. We haven't gotten a single tomato off them, even though they're producing. Something eats them before we can get to them. Except for the patio tomatos...they're doing great in the enclosure.
We're very sorry for your loss, you and your family will be remembered in our prayers. OB & LSA
Steve and the jedis went to get me a new tahr. Apparently the steel belts were showing on one of mine.
Which is why I get to freep!
Goodness! I am so sorry for your loss, SuziQ. Prayers for you and the family.
