Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Then world behind and home ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

When we moved her here, the doctor cut her meds down to a third of what she had been taking.Yeah, folks can build up a tolerance to meds, and it can take a whole boatload to be effective. That week I was with Mama, she'd been on Valium for the entire time, but it took until Thursday for her to head over the edge. I talked to my sister that day, and mentioned the Valium. THAT'S when she told me Mama couldn't take that. Wish I'd known earlier in the week, but I wasn't one of the folks who usually stayed with her. I just happened to be free to come down that week so her usual caregiver could go on vacation with her own family.

Well, we regrouped yesterday, buckled down and got things done. Today is going much better because of it.
Which is good, because swimming class starts today. I want to get as much done as I can beforehand. Joshua is actually almost done, but Matthew still has quite a bit.
We're going to double up for the next few days (even the weekend) so we can take Monday off. That day, we plan to bake goodies for the fire department, visit the WTC memorial down the street, and go to an 9/11 event scheduled in Tulsa. Then, after Steve gets home from work, we're both going to donate blood.

(Expect me when you see me!)
Having too much fun with my end of year self assessment.
"I would prefer if my next role is in an area of the organization that believes in defined roles and responsibilities and communication of those. Or just communication in general. That would be a nice change."
muwahahahahaaa. I am tired of putting up with cR49

Er, I am still at work. I am assessing WORK... sheesh some people always assume the worst ;-D
I don't talk about it here but I have had a really lousy year at work from a role that was poorly defined followed up by a boss that is out to get me. No really. It is no paranoia when they really are out to get you. Made worse by getting a new manager that was inexperienced enough to take what my boss said seriously at first (she seems to have wised up about that).

Hopefully this next year will be better. At the very least it'll be easier for you to vent at me when I'm in the same place.
Running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Everything's under control...

No, my sister decided the fondant she was making wasn't adequate and went to buy some. They are baked and frosted though so it's all good.

I have a lot of sympathy, I've been in some pretty toxic work environments, and it's no fun. Try to keep an even keel... Got a fun weekend coming up :~)

I think the shoes where the reason we couldn't remember the vows! Here I am, ready to say these vows, and I glance over, and here's all my friends, staying right in front, smiling like Cheshire cats, pointing a those shoes!
