We finally finished cleaning carpets. Whew!
Now I have to go shopping. Been putting it off for weeks and now I have to go on Labor Day. Ugh. Oh well. This is going to be a really, really busy week.
I gots all that. I just don't got Comcast.
We lost power for less than an hour on Friday morning. Lost TV and Internet Friday afternoon. TV came back, but still no Internet. I've been on the phone with them at least a half dozen times. I keep getting different answers.
I've gone from "massive outages" to "you're the only one not online" to "why don't you buy a new modem and try that." Best I can get from them is they'll send a technician on Wednesday. WEDNESDAY!
Sheesh, I could be online if I had [shudder] AOL.
Anyway, I'm at Panera catching up. Then I probably won't be back online until tomorrow morning.
Expect a few Suzi-esque catchup posts first...
Welcome back. :~)
Thanks. Y'all didn't talk about much whilst I was gone...
But let me catch up afore I leave.
* Corn maze was cool. Looked like fun. Dusty, but fun.
* Friday and Saturday I worked in the office at home. Watched Two Towers, ROTK and all four Harry Potter movies whilst it was raining.
* All the other naybers cleaned their yards up Saturday afternoon and yesterday. I was planning to do today. But it's raining. I still may get out there and get the worst out of the front yard.
* Nana's gaining her strength back. Wife's brother and family came to visit yesterday. That helped.
* Still, we've at the point of not leaving Luke with Nana. That's our first chore to figure that out. Nana has twice used the "nursing home" word.
She told wife that, and told Sister MBH that "she'd go to a nursing home before she became a burden." I asked Sister if she told her she was three years too late.
Still, not sure he's NH ready yet. We're looking for in home help first because I'm sure that's what Medicaid will ask for.
* Got to get the rest of Luke's school stuff today. Wife was going to take him to breakfast and then go shop. But he woke up with the pukes. So there's that.
* And finally, my friend David is not doing well. It's been an emotional roller coaster ride for his family. Last word we had was that his body is failing. The prognosis is not good. Please keep him and his family in your prayers whatever the outcome.
I'll be back around tomorrow a.m.
Good luck!
Thanks for checking in. Prayers on all accounts, your friend David's family, and that you get your limbs cleaned up.
I'm so sorry to hear that, Corin. Will be praying, for sure.
Your monsters were playing by the dumpster this morning. Not sure how just far they went, but I thought you'd want to know.
I saw them out there, and goofing off in his piles of frap. ~shakes head~
Heh.
We in demo mode today. SirKit and Joseph are taking out the vanity in the kids' bath upstairs. We bought a new light maple vanity and large tri-view medicine cabinet at the Home Depot yesterday. We also bought a door in Natural Maple that goes with another line of cabinets, but will looke fine across the room from the vanity. SirKit is going to go into a wall at the end of the tub, behind which we believe is blank space, and will build in a long tall cabinet for towels, etc. He'll finish it off inside, then put the door right on the wall! It's gonna look nice!
Prayers up for David and his family.
Mmm...turkey...
I'm watching Season 3 of 24. Jack's misbehaving...as usual.
So sad. I will miss him and his near-boundless enthusiasm.
Take your rules and shove them :~)
Agreed. This planet has a lot of really fascinating people on it... but he was one to be remembered. No one else like him. It is such a heartbreak to imagine Terri. They did have something really special. Like I said on another thread, it's hard for most of us to imagine a life that is now made ~less~ exciting to go back home to just a yard full of crocodiles. I wonder if she'll keep the zoo on her own.
I wonder what Jack's felony count is by now.
Was going to hang out and watch the Cubs game.
They got behind by 4 runs in the first and there are 2 on, 1 out in the second.
*Sigh*
Guess I should go do something around the house.
