Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Then world behind and home ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Are you causin' trouble again? Good for you :~P
That kind of stuff needs to be sourced, too much of it is just agenda inspired mud slinging.

It ticks me off on a personal level.
If I still had my maiden last name, I'd be called an illegal Mexican by some of these folks.
When I was protesting the re-re-re-count in Palm Beach County, I had a "tolerant liberal" charge right up to my face and scream "Go back to Puerto Rico, you stupid Puerto Rican!"
True story.
And there wasn't anything about me other than my general appearance to have provoked that reaction from him.
I refuse to have FR tainted by the same type of human refuse.

Nah, not really. Saw part of one of the Superman movies once... I think he was fixing a crack in the earth or something.

Ungh.
Went to Wal-mart. Yes, I knew better. But I had to buy the stuff for my sister to start working on wedding cake tomorrow. And I bought the sodas and water - well, half of it - for the reception. $90 and an entire trunk.
*And* not two hours after I send the caterer the headcount apparently Mom's uncle and aunt I haven't seen in years that she swore wouldn't come, decided they were coming. Ha ha ha. And the teenage lesbian cousin and her 40 year old girlfriend are coming. I hear banjos already.

I am telling you I am going to have to have all my side come in crazy costumes or something because my collection of geeks and engineers is going to seem way to tame by comparison.
To: RMDupree
What? Is there a thread some place where you need fire-support? What did I miss? *looks around*
FR is so much more managable when you have an HH posting swat team on call...

Way, way, way too tame. Oh well, we like this aunt and uncle. They are much nicer than my grandfather. Pretty much all my great aunts and uncles are nicer than my grandparents. It's amazing. Turns out they lost the invites and had personal stuff going on and called Mom all apologetically asking if they were too late to rsvp. So of course they weren't.
If anyone else says they're coming, though... rrrrr.... they will just not get food.

Corin, you will have to try to be weirder than my family. After all we do not think you likely to either stand up in the middle of the ceremony and call us all godless heathens, or get into a tooth-and-nail fight at the reception. And even if you did it would not matter since you are just my crazy friend and not a relative.
Have you ever been to 'etiquettehell.com'? I am betting I will have stories to rival some of those.

Ah yes, weddings and funerals seem to bring out the absolute WORST in families. Don't know why that is. Maybe because it's usually the time when EVERYONE is together; even the ones who avoid everyone else like the plague most other times.
