The Hobbit Hole XXX - Then world behind and home ahead...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 06/28/2006 10:14:11 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Then world behind and home ahead

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

That one is Hi-Larious.

Onliest time I actually was in danger of falling off a chair laughing. Especially when the guy's truck... gets away from him and rolls up and down hills with the bewildered girl in it...

You just need a more compliant kid.

It's a classic movie... I think Rosie will really like it :~)

Me too. I have Theatrical Fullscreen, Theatrical Widescreen, and EE. If somebody wants to show me a new documentary, great...but twice is enough to see the "special features" on the discs I have, and I only watch The Movies any more.

And I abominate double-sided discs.

Yes!

Who's got Sean Astin's number?

Even among the diehards...I wonder how many will really buy this.

I did. It's my way of honoring Tolkien, and PJ (despite the liberties he had to take with the book).

Here's the explanation, as much sense as it makes :~)

ALREADY OWN BOTH VERSIONS OF EACH FILM. WHY DOESN'T NEW LINE JUST RELEASE THE DOCUMENTARIES?
Having unprecedented access to the cast and crew during film production inevitably means that there are some restrictions. In this case, releasing these documentaries unaccompanied by the film would be nearly impossible because of agreements that are in place with the cast and crew. We wanted to make the documentaries available while also giving the fans something they don't have, which is why we included both versions of the film on one disc.

I like to agree they all deserve a lot of money, but he's pushin' us!

That is the one part of this deal I dislike. What's wrong with another buck for a couple more platters? Unless this is pushed as a "convience" so people just have to choose which side to play.

I betcha you have to flip the thing over half-way through no matter which version you've picked.

He's only pushing as far as we'll let him, you know. If nobody bought these disks maybe he'd bring out the blooper reel plus documentaries plus special restored super secret extended edition movies.

I see. Hmmm....well then, I guess I'll have to discuss it with my better-half first. ;-)

I bought a couple of DVDs that were on sale for $7.99 apiece at Fred Meyer today.

The Last Unicorn - I've loved this film since I was a kidlet. Really hoping the live-action version gets back on track soon!

The Wedding Singer - damn funny. What else needs to be said?

Beetlejuice - replaced the one that got broken during the move. Becky loves it. I find it mildly annoying, but mostly harmless. ;-)

Heh, I did the same thing... I always check the bargain racks when I go in there. Today I picked up The Gods Must Be Crazy and The Bear.

And our South Park Season 8 will be here from Amazon tomorrow!

Fred Meyer's had some decent sales on DVDs lately. I bought Galaxy Quest the other day...just 'cause it's funny. Almost bought Reign of Fire, too...but I know I mostly just like that one for the eye candy (and ear candy in Gerard Butler's case...), so I didn't...but I'll probably weaken one of these days.

Wish they had more older movies on the sale rack. There are plenty of those I'd like to have.
