The Hobbit Hole XXX - Then world behind and home ahead...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 06/28/2006 10:14:11 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Then world behind and home ahead

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

A little African Bushman who finds a coke bottle. It's terrific... If that doesn't remind you, I won't give away any more. Want to come over in a bit and watch it?

Doesn't sound familiar...so I guess I haven't seen it.

Sure...could come over in a bit.

That looks interesting, but just how many copies of LOTR are we supposed to have? LOL!

Heh...a lot of people waited out for the special editions and didn't buy the theatrical...but somehow I doubt people held out this long...

Even among the diehards...I wonder how many will really buy this.

I'd love to have the new documentaries, but I feel a little robbed that it'd be $60 more to get them.

Well, it doesn't have all the special features of the Extended Edition, just both versions of the movie and the new documentary, so the EE is still the definitive release. Plus, this new release is on two double-sided discs, which I don't like. I think I'll skip it.

It would have been smarter to release the new documentaries on their own DVDs. I would buy that.

Winmag mentioned it the other night. I got an e-mail from the New Line shop today announcing it. Each one is 2 DVDs and included both the theatrical AND extended versions of each movie as well as some new documentaries. The set of 3 from New Line is 59.85. Actually NOT a bad price! Check it out HERE!

Sorry to show up so late, was looking for a kid to throw off a bridge. Looks like I'm going to get the edge of Ernesto sometime tomorrow night.

They said it was contractual obligation not to release it without the movies... Like if they don't release the movies with it, the actors don't get paid, or royalties get all confusted, or something.

I'm perplexed about it at the moment.
