The Hobbit Hole XXX - Then world behind and home ahead...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Then world behind and home ahead

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

The cat does not look thrilled about her triumphal picture!

*snicker*

Tweek wasn't exactly pleased with your immediately stealing what she'd rightfully captured, I take it?

Ungh...only had about a cup of coffee more than usual, but my heart feels like it's racing. I hate that.

Good time to get busy on something or take a bike ride :~)

Not sure where Tweek actually found the lizard, she had it on the porch by the front door when we saw her.

What a fast moving storm!! We only got about .2 inch, but at this point in time I'll take all I can get. Have to get to the store before the next storm comes in. LSA

Yo.

Thing suck here.

Though in a very minor way.

Still, enough to tick me off mightily.

Doesn't have anything to do with WK.

Everything to do with inconsiderate a$$holes...there, I said it, kinda.

I finally found a Starbucks coffee blend that I like! When Clare and I were flying down to FL Thursday morning, we got to the airport vey early and had time for breakfast. There was not a Dunkin Donuts down at the Jet Blue gate area, so we had to do Starbucks, and I had their Decaf Cafe Verona. It was scrumptious. I just got back from grocery shopping, and Stop& Shop had 12oz. bags of the Regular Verona for $7.99! I gots me one.

Sorry things are bad your way. We're having a bit of a cold snap. Had to wear my raincoat to the store, because it's raining, and because it is chilly out there. This is typical for late August, though. Always gets cold. We've got a lot of work to do in the yard, though, so the cooler weather is a blessing!

You haven't been hanging out at my place of employment, have ya? If I'd only known, we could have had a lunch moot.

Sorry things suck minorly. Glad they don't suck majorly.

Yay, tomorrow is Monday. Did I say that?

There are 15 housing units in this building, and there are three washers and three dryers to accommodate the laundry needs of the residents.

A sign on the wall of the laundry room asks residents not to leave completed laundry unattended, and states the duration of the machines’ operation for the convenience of those (like myself) who use clocks and/or timers to determine the best time for returning to the laundry room.

Today I had the dubious privilege of waiting nearly 3 hours for someone to transfer their washed articles to a dryer, and I have since waited two and a half hours for (presumably) the same individual to take the freshly dried items home.

I have a life, now, and don’t wish to spend it waiting to get my wet things into a dryer where they will stay just long enough to dry!!

I know this is petty and weak compared to what others are experiencing (my prayers for you and yours, Corin).

I am nonetheless seriesly PO’d.

Had a really good talk with Dad instead. ;-)

But I should get back into riding. Haven't for awhile, mostly because I was feeling guilty about leaving Cisco again in the evenings and when I take him, I can't really get a good hard ride.

I found out Fred Meyer carries Green Mountain Coffee Roasters coffee, albeit just the Organic varieties. And it's cheaper here than back home. Go figure.

I had some for the first time this morning. Maybe it's more caffeinated than other brands. That'd explain things!

When I was in college, we had baskets such abandoned laundry got put into. If you weren't there when the buzzer went off, your stuff got moved.

If they have left their clothes in the washer past the time they are supposed to, you have every right to remove their clothes and wash your own. If you want to be nice about it, you could get a cheap laundry basket and take it with you, just in case, and put their clothes in it. You don't even have to apologize for doing so. If they come back and wonder where their clothes are, just point them out, or just leave them where they can see them whenever they return.

There is absolutely NO need for you to wait until they decide to grace the laundry room with their presence again, especially since the information about the duration of the cycles is posted, and it has been explicity stated NOT to leave the clothes unattended past their finished time.
