New verse:

Still round the corner there may wait |

Home is behind, the world ahead, |

best part is, the slimey, incompetent butt-kissin' co-worker got jammed with muh old shift...
I love it when nasty people get their comeuppance.
I bought ice cream - just in case. :)
If the world's ending today, can it happen before I have to take Nana to the doctor?
It's not a happy time in Castle Stormhands. Not sure what's wrong but her foot is in a lot, that's a lot, no really I mean a LOT of pain. So much so that she woke us up crying/moaning around 3:00 a.m. Took the Mrs. almost an hour to get her to calm down (and take some pain meds). That was especially convenient since the Mrs. had to leave for Northern Virginia at 5:00 a.m.
So, I'm staying home today to take care of Nana and Luke. And to probably take her to the doctor. I have no idea what it could be. I thought maybe a hairline fracture from putting her foot down too hard, but she shuffles her feet with the walker. I just dunno.
Not a good time for me to be out of the office. But at least there was no meeting today.
We really are at a crossroads here. Mrs. said yesterday that she really can't deal with the emotional roller coaster Nana puts us through. And, we're obviously at the place that we'll need to find alternatives for before and after school for Luke. We can't depend on Nana 'cause we don't know when she's gonna fall apart again.
So, there's that.
What great news to wake up to! PTL, indeed. :-D
~sip~
Oh dear... maybe it's an injury from the fall the other day... but you'd think it'd look swollen or something.
Good morning Corin!
~sigh~
Prayers up for Nana's healing and a solution for you all.
Yeah, but it doesn't make sense for it to be from the fall. Still she might have tensed up or twisted it or something.
I'm waiting on the doctor to call us back.
In the meantime, she only sigh and moans when she knows I can hear her.
I swear I'm not making that up.
I guess that answers the question about the tree falling in the woods :~)
Geesh, Corin. You guys sure get more than your share!
Prayers up for Nana - and for you and the Mrs., that you're able to decide how to handle everything going forward.
Oh, that's bad! Heh...
Okay, I'm logging off so Luke can play on the computer. Catch y'all later.
A guy at work gave Steve a hugh heavy pocketknife. Hugh! Has a bunch of blades. Well, he had put it in the drink pocket of one of our canvas lawn chairs and then folded the lawn chair up.
I used the folded-up lawn chair to prop our garage door open yesterday during a thunderstorm, just to let the fresh air into the garage. So when I went to lock up the house last night, I picked the lawn chair clear up to about my waist to move it and that big pocketknife slipped out of the pocket and pegged my middle toe on my right foot! Thankfully and properly, the knife was closed up, but the end...where the blade hinges are...came squarely down on my toe and bashed and cut it at the same time...in two places. Yeee-owwwww!!! I really howled!!
By the time I got in the house, I had blood pouring out of the cut. Steve got me a cloth and said "WHAT HAPPENED??" I told him and we both agreed that unlike the time I was chasing the chicken and broke my toe, this would be classified as a freak accident.
Freak accidents don't happen too often...so worth noting when they do.
Good luck Corin, let us know... Prayers up for Nana, and you.
So sorry to hear the news about Nana, Corin. Hope it's something minor the doctor can solve without much effort (ie, surgery). Please let us know what happens. LSA
Good luck, Corin.
She's from Sturbridge, so we met up with her at a mall nearby, and chatted for a while. She mentioned that her uncle worked at Ave Maria, and when I asked who, she told me. I just had to laugh! I told her that I knew someone who was friends with the family.
So the world didn't end but the thread is dead. Hmm.
Heh...I guess I didn't miss the end of the world.
I surely didn't miss it. Glad to see it was yet again an overrated armageddon.
