Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Then world behind and home ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

$22.00 for one mag full? (hmmm) I presume it's reloadable? (hmmm) however life's too short to shoot cheap ammo. I'm waiting for a buddy to get his PS90 so we can split a case of 2000. And there's a TINY bit of reloading stuff out there. It might take a couple of years to fill the pipeline and bring prices down.

For some reason I'm reminded of a cartoon where the critters are toting cafeteria trays through Porky Pig's garden...

Hehehe, that sounds like fun. I know. I'm twisted. Glad I'm not a sysadmin type any more.

You know, I didn't even try for the Precious since I knew you were around. ;-)

That sounds like a plan, rolling your own does save a few bucks here and there. I can't get 9mm to pay off yet, but I'm saving the brass for the day it does, now, the .45 auto and .38 special, different story.
hmmm. thousand rounds.

Evening everyone :~D We're home from my meeting and from a visit at the beach house this afternoon :~D
First off, welcome to Washington Ruthy and Becky and Aly!
second... with all the business of new threads and dying squirrels and leaving for meetings this morning I forgot to tell you all I was a pain in the a$$ neighbor last night. About 10:45 I got tired of the neighbor across the pasture who was firing off big fireworks that late on a work night and getting the horses running. I don't like them running at night, if I'd known he was going to have a big fireworks event I'd have drugged them and put them in. And drugged the dogs so Homer wasn't leaping onto our lap with his eyes bugging out. I walked out to the fenceline with our spotlight and lit up his yard. His kids scattered at first, and eventually dad came out and talked to us. He was cool, said they were celebrating the 4th early because the son was going to be at camp on the 4th, but that they were done. I just said sorry to be a pain in the ass but I need warning for stuff like that. If I can predict fireworks I can give the horses and the dogs sedatives, but they need two hours to work. I can't start them after the noise starts. Anyway, he apologized and we left good neighbors.
Next... Rosie, I met your new landlord, and he seems like a real nice fellow. He took possession today. Been a busy day for him, he says he's going to remodel the store and change the gas brand and all kinds of stuff. Said he's been in the grocery business a long time, has two grown kids, tried to retire and got bored. They live in Federal Way, so I can't imagine he'll commute every day to work the store, the gals' jobs might be safe after all. I said you were a real good tenant and that we had really cleaned up your place when you moved in. He said he'll introduce himself soon, that he was busy busy and trying to figure everything out today.
To: HairOfTheDog
That all sounds good...doesn't sound like he'd be thinking to do anything else with this land, then, no? Whew...
Hopefully I'll meet him this weekend - I have rent to pay on the first, so the timing isn't bad.
Now...you *did* get pictures, no??
To: HairOfTheDog
I really oughta read the dates on threads before responding. I just posted to you on a Cookies for the Troops thread that was dated back in April. Someone must have revived it, and I wasn't paying attention.

Pictures of what? Oh - no - I didn't see Ruthy and Ramius, they went up to their new place. We were at the beach house.
To: SuziQ
It happens.... maybe someone new will see it :~D
To: HairOfTheDog
Oh, OK. I thought they might have stopped by - couldn't remember what their path was.
Hopefully they took pictures of the day, but I'm not counting on it. ;-) Guessing they had a lot of other stuff on their minds!
Ungh...I'm up too late again. Started working on my NaNo story again. I was hoping to get off to work early tomorrow - it's likely to be crazy. At least I get to wear jeans. Yay.

I'm hoping to work on my pre-NaNo story and start writing that next week... after the fireworks.
Morning all! Almost Friday!

Good morning, everyone!
Apparently, if all goes well, I'll eventually be finding room in my apartment for an upright piano.
Hmm....

Maybe you should look into a bigger apartment... or a little house...
When is "eventually"? You gave us hints the other day that things were moving fast and then you didn't feed our curiosity enough...

Good morning!
I'm sitting out on the back porch with the laptop and a cup of coffee and my binocs.
Starlings are in the garden, hopefully eating the bugs off the squash and cukes...nothing else of interest in there for them.
Fiver's out there too...just walking around nibbling the grass.

Saw a group of newly hatched squash bugs on one of my plants...I just sniped the leaf off, stuffed it in a jar, hatchlings and all, put the lid on it and stuck it in the deep freeze.
That'll larn 'em.
