According to Fox News, Patsy Ramsey, mother of Jonbenet Ramsey has passed away from ovarian cancer.
The child spent the entire evening at a Christmas party in the neighborhood. No doubt she came into contact with dozens of people at that party. No doubt she sat on the lap of many adults at the party. It is logical that unless she had been bathed and soaked in a tub for a long time, that all kinds of matter would have been under her fingernails.
Just playing devils advocate...
So when the press is camped out on your doorstep, knocking on your door and ringing your phone, irritating your neighbors, banging on your windows. all hours of the day and night, and the police said you needed to be available at all times, then leak your personal phone numbers to the press...
You wouldn't hire a professional firm to run a little interference for you so you could do what needed to be done? PR firms are not just hired to spin, they are often there to protect you from the monumental burden of the press. They know how to word things carefully so as to not spur rampant speculation, cause you further problems with the authorities and generally keep you out of trouble.
I don't think most people understand just what it's like to have the full weight and power of the press come down on you.
For what it's worth, I know some people who lost a child to an accident. We live in a small town and it should have been a pretty small story. But because of who the father was, the press made it unbearable for a while. And that is without the national media fanning the flames.
Hell is what it is called.
I don't know what I would do in a situation like this. But I do know, without having gone through it, that I am NOT going to disparage people who try and get whatever help they need in order to survive. I would also do whatever it took to protect my family, and that includes hiring a pr firm even if it made people suspicious.
It's CBS that has brain cancer........they are soooo stupid, I don't know how they stay on the air.
So young to die.
My next door neighbors sister passed away two weeks ago after a three year battle with bone cancer. She was also only 49.
Her funeral was heartbreaking. Her oldest daughter is less than a month away from having her first child. She never made it, though she tried so hard, to see the birth of her first grandchild.
Thanx Morgan22. Do you remember the "Junkyard Gang" and their involvement with burlaries and other crimes that took place in the area at the time? I think they were responsible for the JonBenet killing.
I am sure that there are detectives and invesitgators who are willing to take a case and argue either side.
After all, there were those Colombian drug dealers hanging around Nicole Simpson's home../s/
Don't forget that "handwriting experts authenticated" the forged CBS documents too.
I think an inexact science at best.
No, but they lost their business and went bankrupt. I believe they are still involved with a lawsuit against the police and media outlets that tried and convicted them with hardly a shred of evidence.
Sorry, I meant first runner up.
Truth be told it was a possible theroy and I agree the son is a stretch.
From the beginning of the case there never has been anything about what JonBenet's body shows that couldn't be just as easily explained by an accident and then a cover-up
So very sorry to hear this. I never followed the case thoroughly but never believed that she nor her family were in any way guilty.
The police certainly botched the investgation badly...I mean how stupid could any PD be?
That clearly turned out to be false.
These were not nice people.
Did they find her wrapped in duct tape, too? /s
You want to discuss dysfunctional families? I could write a book. But we love each other and none of us are more prone to murder than anyone in your family.
Being part of a dysfunctional family does not a murderer make.
I think it is so grossly unfair for anyone to assume Burke murdered his sister because, after all, we "know" he was jealous of his sister.

That is indeed heartbreaking. Makes me so appreciate my grandchildren all the more. And it reminds me of how my "problems" are nothing compared to things like this.
I honestly do not believe it was stupidity on the part of the PD. Boulder has an incredibly low murder rate with investigators who have little to no experience dealing with a crime scene such as this.
Put that together with the national attention this case got and you have a recipe for disaster.
The stupidity on the PD was not bringing in until much later agencies who had solid experience dealing with murder cases.
Secondly was the ego factor that got into the way. They knew the Ramsey's did it, they only wanted evidence that proved it and when evidence came up that didn't fit into their scenario, it was ignored, this greatly harmed the case. Add that to a prosecutors office that also was so sure the Ramsey's did it and ignored any information to the contrary and we have a murderer who is free to kill again.
DNA does not mysteriously jump into a 6 year olds underwear without someone putting it there.
Once again, we have a full DNA profile found in her underwear that to this day can not be matched to anyone.
