Nice of you to make it so cool and frosty looking so that Sharkey would feel more at home. It is very difficult for him to maintain his state of denial when he has to look at deep, blue-green waters, outlined by rich, green palms, dotted with brilliantly colored Hibiscus blossoms and embellished with bikini clad beach bunnies. Of course, the ladies COULD wear bikinis in the frigid north, but the full length, down-filled beach wraps would make it kinda pointless.
Aaaaaw, nully, thats no fun. Heck, sometimes just having those tests can make ya sick. LOL Best make your escape as soon as you get the chance. :)
ooooo, what a little fella. Never seen a baby 'possum before, they're no where near as ugly ir vile looking as the grown ups. LOL
BTW, been meaning to ask for days, how is the stop smokin campaign going ?
Dang, nully, hope you're back with all of us soon. Mind your doctors.
LOL. Now, cardy, you know perfectly well that St Tristan's, the girls and the staff don't exist. They're cartoon chsaracters, just figments in the imagination of an odd englishman. LOL
I'm almost afraid to say this but.... it looks like Tropical Storm Chris is behavin, may not turn out to be a big bad boy after all. Moreover, down at the Hurricane Watch Center, they've scaled back their predictions for the number of named storms this year. Still expected to be an overly active season but not as bad as first thought. Wheweeee ! Thats cause for celebration.
Hummmm, its been a month since her hip surgery and still no word from or about Canadian Outrage.
You get laid off tomorrow????? Do you mean you are finally retiring? If so..............Whoooooopi!!!
Thanks for the links. I guess the damage from wind was pretty bad here and in Mass.
Hoping we stay clear of storms tonight, but not betting on it. :(
All your pics have been great. I've been doing so much packing, etc. that I haven't had much time to keep up with the thread, but I read them all when I can.
Where is she, anyway? Have you checked her forums? I hope to goodness she's ok..
Nully needs to get home soon dark in the basement could turn that furnace up again!:)
Hi Gran,
I lurk lots, post little, and try to say nothing too sharp.
The newly weds took off without getting their final set of photos from the photographer -- They were all of the big prime-rib bash we held for everyone. I'll have a pic or two to post when they come. We had bagpipers marching around the pavillion, violin and piano music, singers and guitar players, and a gazebo with a sound system. About 400 people showed up for the 3 hour gala.
A few nights ago I went over to check on my daughter's snake at their apartment, and I took the heating lamp and set it on the carpet when I opened the cage. Then it stayed there for two days turning on and off with the timer -- and it resulted in a deep, round, black hole in the carpet. I figure guardian angels were blowing on it to keep the fire from starting. So I am exceeeeeeedingly upset at myself for letting that happen, I'm sure I will have to pay somebody to come in and repair the carpet.
This is the going-out-in-style with a severance package after the successful sale of the company.
Cheers.
Did you get your AC running, Resty? I hope you weren't sick from all that heat. It must have been awful.
Thanks Gran I am going to s*rip down and jump in!:)
I got a little work done away from the puter!:) LOL
I don't think soo I was a tomboy!:)
gran, I've searched FR for her posts but the most recent one was 30 June. I don't know if she post on any other forum or not. She mentioned that she expected she'd have more time online while she recuperated at home but its been a month now and I'm getting a little concerned.
Ouch ! Hope the severance was sweet enough to buffer the sting.
Darlin --
In 1980 I went back to college to get an Electrical Engineering and Technology Bachelor's degree, graduated in 1984 from Brigham Young University. I met the people I would later join for a startup company at my first job, Signetics. When it shut down the group of us went to work for a startup company, and in 1990 I began my Master's degree at the University of Utah, graduating in 1994. That year we spun our own company, and named it K2. We had been together for ten years by then. We took it from concept to a successful corporation over the next nine years, and were offered a cash buy-out when the time was right.
That sale was three years ago, with the terms and conditions lasting three years. Now the company that acquired us has decided to exit the field we specialized in, and made it worth our while to do so.
