She also said that the prosecuter claims to have "good news" for their case. We have heard that before.

If this gets to court the defense will surly bring it up. The only question is do you bring it up directly with the 2nd striper or do you have the second striper on the stand and go over her rap sheet. Then ask a cop on the stand about the money.

I have long believed, though obviously have no proof, that Mr. Taylor or Magnum's boyfriend is the who she is afraid of and who may have roughed her up and "taught her a lesson" -- no to come back without the money. I have also believe, as you all know, that the Duke boys were convenient scapegoats and evolved into sitting ducks as marks. Ill-bred remarks and poor judgment notwithstanding, I believe there was no rape, there will be a major win in court for the defense, and there will be no charges filed against Magnum, her boyfriend or her employer. I believe this will proceed to court due to the Nation of Islam and others of that ilk. I believe that though the LAXers will be cleared in court, there will be major violence sparked by the loss of these nice white boys not being sacrificed on the "revenge" and "reparations" altar of the bigots aforementioned. That is why it is so important that these young men stay strong and united, that others at Duke consider what is at stake and amend (at least for the foreseeable future) their wild and immoral behavior -- whether, or not, anyone thinks it will have an impact -- it will.

Yeah, I read that. I've had folks ask why we, as a family, didn't let it go public with our son. The article to which you directed me is one reason why. We had been stalked for a year and a half, as I have stated, and we were frightened, to say the least. When black teens from the neighborhood where my son's accuser lived started calling us to warn us of what was happening and when our living room became the meeting place for black leaders in our community, we were afraid. I know the Lord hates a coward, but we were aware that it could become much more dangerous if we protested too loudly. There were other considerations, as well. We were trying to save what we could of our son's chances to pursue his dream/goal. You'll get a kick out of this -- over the weekend he disclosed he's interested in entering the priesthood (we're Catholics). I pointed out that giving up the chance to have a family and the hours and hours of praying and studying might have some impact on his decision to which he replied, "Yeah, that might be tough." Ah, well, at least his heart is where it should be -- focused on the real Saving Grace and Truth. I told him to give it a couple more years and, if he's still interested in joining the Jesuits or the Holy Cross fathers, I won't stand in his way.
