"The entire Northern Hemisphere seems to be in a heatwave!! Bush's fault?" Actually, I have heard of this phenomenon. In fact, it is not all that unusual.
We call it Summer.

I mean it's unusually hot - heatwave is a specific term to describe unusually hot weather.

Although the humidity's below 30%, so it's not too awful in the shade.

Could this have anything to do with wanting to pillage and ransack a few places? Well.... maybe.....
American pullout leaves Iceland defenceless
I am not sure what Iceland has to pillage but it is the ransacking that counts.

Maybe because riding in the short boat has, er, unhelpful social ramifications? Use moderns have upgraded to the "short bus", but it's the same idea.

Here among the Flying Castle grounds, the forested areas will not support harvesting of the oak trees. We use them as a biological reserve.
After the modifications to Mars' atmosphere, we will be able to produce incredible quantities of good wood, but you would have to be patient for that.
Whatever your perceived need, Harmless, you will have to substitute metal for the wood. We will harvest a nice, iron-rich asteroid for you.
If it absolutely has to be oak wood, we may be able to make some arrangements in Manitoba.

We will need iron too, yes. Spears, axes, broadswords and that sort of thing.
I am wondering if a iron boat would be to heavy to row.
